PATRONUS:
If your character is an OC, are they old enough to practice this spell? It is considered sixth year magic, so keep that in mind. Once you've decided whether or not it is appropriate for your character to have a patronus, tell us the memory your character uses to summon it and form that it takes.
Keep in mind that patronus forms reflect personalities and emotions. There is not a single record of a patronus form that is of a magical creature, so don't use one of those. Think of an animal that is unique, but not outlandish or unreasonable for your character to have a personal connection to.[/ul]

This goes for anything from blood relation to work affiliation. OC's can build relationships to canons after their acceptance; it should not be a part of their history or their family.[/ul]
IMPORTANT PERSON:
OVERALL HISTORY: Please provide at least four paragraphs of history for your character. There are all manner of things that can be covered; from first signs of magic, to how the family gets along.
For halfbloods, what are the political beliefs of the family? Do they approve or disapprove of blood purity idealism? What's your characters take on it and why? What influences did they have toward favored housing? What mini adventures did they partake in before school?
For Muggleborns, how did your family react to your Hogwarts letter? How did your character feel when they discovered they were different from the rest of their family?
If they've been in school for some time, what are their favorite subjects and teachers? Why is that so?
These are just a few of hundreds of examples of questions that could be asked in order to better fill out and frame a robust character history. If you get stuck or you find you don't know what to cover, PM a member of the admin team, and we'll happily coach you through it!

FULL NAME: [ul](Place your character's full name here.) [/ul]
NICKNAMES: [ul](If your character has any nicknames, this is where you'd let us know!) [/ul]
AGE: [ul](How old is your character? Remember students, Hogwarts students start their first year at eleven, so your characters age needs to match with their year!) [/ul]
BIRTHDATE: [ul](When was your character born?) [/ul]
GENDER: [ul](Male / Female?) [/ul]
BLOOD: [ul](This is your characters [a href="http://xhallowsandhorcruxes.proboards.com/thread/5131/blood-status-guide"]blood status[/a]. We encourage you to make half-bloods and muggleborns, and avoid OC purebloods if you can. There are plenty of pureblood canons in need of picking up, many of whom are pretty unknown, so that's also a good option! Otherwise, make sure you check the [a href="http://xhallowsandhorcruxes.proboards.com/thread/5126/pureblood-registy"]Pureblood Registry[/a] before making an OC Pureblood.) [/ul]
OCCUPATION: [ul](If your character is an adult, what do they do for a living?) [/ul]
YEAR [ul](For Hogwarts students, this would be what year your character is in. Note that all original student characters are sorted into their houses by H&H Staff! Original adults may choose their house.) [/ul]
ORIENTATION: [ul](We're open to all orientations here at Hallows and Horcruxes, so feel free to experiment a little!) [/ul]
AFFILATION: [ul](Who does your character support? The Order, the Death Eaters, the Ministry? Note for students: We do not accept original characters into Dumbledore's Army.) [/ul]
WAND: [ul](A description of your character's wand should go here. Be creative! If you find yourself getting stuck on this one, our administrator has compiled a [a href="http://xhallowsandhorcruxes.proboards.com/thread/5128/wand-makers-guide"]Wand Maker's Guide[/a] to help you!)[/ul]
PETS: [ul](Remember students: Cat, rat, owl or toad. No exotic pets please. Adults, keep it reasonable; no pet dragons or cheetahs please, if you catch my drift!) [/ul]

LIKES: [ul] At least 5. If you can, go into detail a little bit; tell us why your character likes these particular things, or what their significance to your character is. [/ul]
DISLIKES: [ul] At least 5. If you can, go into detail a little bit; why does your character not like these particular things? What caused them to feel that way about it? Give a little insight! [/ul]
STRENGTHS: [ul] At least 3. Everybody has some things they are proud of, somethings that make them unique and, in certain situations, stronger than others. What are your characters things? [/ul]
WEAKNESS: [ul] At least 3. Nobody is perfect - absolutely everybody has flaws, and pretty big ones to boot most of the time. Show us how your character is human; tell us about the things that make them weaker than others. [/ul]
GOALS: [ul] At least 2. What does your character want in life? At school? On the job? What drives them to do the things they do? [/ul]
BOGGART: [ul] Your character's greatest fear, and perhaps a reason why. [/ul]
PATRONUS: [ul] Not every character has a patronus! If your character is not a canon listed with one, consider whether or not your canon needs one. Remember, if you're a Death Eater, you cannot cast a patronus. J.K. Rowling stated herself that Severus Snape was the only Death Eater capable of performing a patronus spell.
If your character is an OC, are they old enough to practice this spell? It is considered sixth year magic, so keep that in mind. Once you've decided whether or not it is appropriate for your character to have a patronus, tell us the memory your character uses to summon it and form that it takes.

BIRTHPLACE: [ul](The Harry Potter universe is based in Britain, and though Hallows and Horcruxes is AU, we would like to keep certain things true to form. Hogwarts accepts students from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, all of which are beautiful places with fantastic history. Your OC can be extremely interesting coming from any of those lands; they don't have to be made special by being transferred in from elsewhere in Europe, or born in some exotic place, so keep that in mind when choosing where your character comes from!) [/ul]
RESIDENCE: [ul]If your character is a student, where do they live when they aren't in school? For adults, where do you live when you aren't sleeping at your desk?) [/ul]
PARENTS: [ul]Hallows and Horcruxes does not accept original orphans. There are plenty of ways to make your character pop out without killing off one or both their parents. We suggest that OCs have both their parents alive and together for now, though what the relationship between the three are is entirely up to you. [/ul]
SIBLINGS: [ul]Does your character have any siblings we should know about? [/ul]
IMPORTANT RELATIVES: [ul]Is there anyone else close to your character that deserves a mention? If so, this is the place for it.
Please keep in mind that any relationships between canon characters and OCs that has not been discussed ahead of time with the admin team and the player of the canon involved will not be accepted.
This goes for anything from blood relation to work affiliation. OC's can build relationships to canons after their acceptance; it should not be a part of their history or their family.[/ul]
