Aurora slipped out of her office and flicked her wand, whispering the required incantation to open the door to the classroom. The student would be arriving within the next fifteen minutes an she wished to be fully prepared for the first class of the new year. Yes, this would be for the sixth and seventh year students who had a desire to continue on with Astronomy as an elected course. These students shared in her enjoyment, they were not required to be here, yet they came all the same. She smiled softly at the thought. Turning her attention to the front of her class, where an empty chalk board sat, she swirled her wand once more, the chalk lifting up to the board and writting down the needed information for today's lesson. They would begin by discussing the constellation Aquila, which could be seen in the night sky in September. It was also one of the easiest to be seen, with only five stars in it's constellation, it was a simple mapping and a good start for the new year. Aurora began to write with her wand, upon the board. Aquila of the genitive, Aquilae. English translation of The Eagle is a constellation, with five major stars, that can be seen between latitudes 85 and -75. It has a Declination of 5 degrees. What is Declination? - Declination is the position to which a star or constellation is visible. The closer to 90 degrees the declination, the longer the star or constellation is visible throughout the year. As such, the closer the decliation to 0 degrees, the less amount of time the star or constellation is visible throughout the year. How to find the Latitude of a Constellation: - To find the latitude one must simply add and subtract 80 degrees from the declination. As the declination is very closely proximate to the current latitude of the viewer. example: if the declination is 5 degrees, the maximun latitudes are 5+80 and 5-80, egualling 80 and -75. Major Stars in the Constellation Aquila: - ALTAIR (Alpha Aql) - ALSHAIN (Beta Aql) - TARAZED (Gamma Aql) - Deneb el Okab (Epsilon Aql) - Deneb el Okab (Zeta Aql) Aurora turned form the board and swished her wand, whispering an incantation that allowed for the tip of the want to light. She then dotted the air, leaving small white dots behind from her wand. She then tapped her wand and muttered the incantation again, this time adding "yellow" at the end, so that it changed the color. She then began to connect the lines, drawing the constellation of Aquila in the air beside the chalk board. She stepped back, nodding to her work before walking to the windows and checking over the telescopes. She then remained by the largest window to watch the skies silently until her students arrived. no one would ever see the stars tagged listed words 492 notes ^^ credits irisheyes of C.20

Eden opened her eyes, gazing up at the ceiling for a few moments before she decided to sit up. Yawning softly, she stretched and arched her back. Standing up, Eden slipping on her shoes and straightened out her skirt and shirt, adjusting her vest and making sure she looked presentable. She then walked over to the mirror and opted to put her hair up for this evening's class, something she didn't often do, but she was feeling a little warm at the moment and her hair was making her warmer.

Once she'd put her hair up she decided to head down to the common rooms to wait for the other Ravenclaw students who were attending the class. As it was past the hour to which students should be asleep and the Head of Houses needed to escort the students to the late night class. Eden remained away from the others, as she usually did, her eyes cast out the window at the stars. She wondered, idly, what they would be learning about tonight...

When everyone had been gathered, she walked with them down the hall to their classroom, thankful for the short walk... as she was still slightly sleepy. She nodded a thank you to the Head of House and entered the class room. Students flocked in around her, her eyes met the back of Professor Sinistra, their Astronomy Professor since Eden was in her second year. The teacher seemed to be thinking on something, or merely star gazing, Eden thought to herself that it must be a rather lovely profession, to be able to surround yourself with the night sky at all times, learn about it, live it and love it dearly.

Eden sighed softly when she was shoved slightly by another student. She turned her attention to them and quirked a brow. The student told her she was in their way, she merely shrugged and moved so that they could get into their seat. She then turned her attention to an empty table in the middle of the class room. Perhaps this would do well for her.

She made her way over to the table and set down her bag. She then took out a few sheets of parchment and her quill, along with some ink and a ruler. She then began to take down the notes that were written on the chalk board in neat, orderly handwriting. Once she'd completed the inscriptions she marked small stars on the bottom of the parchment and drew lines connecting them in the same manner as they were in the air, using her ruler to make the lines straight. She then set the information to the side and took out another parchment piece, writing on the top in the same fashion as before:

Before slipping that piece behind her other and taking that back in her hands. She then began to read over the information that Professor Sinistra had denoted on the board, making sure what she'd written and what was on the board matched. When she'd completed those tasks she set down the papers and looked out the window, resting her chin in her hand and her elbow on the table, waiting for class to begin.

Suddenly, there was a familiar voice behind her, asking if the seat beside her was taken, she shook her head, still staring out the window - almost dazed. Though she was not sure if it was from her lack of sleep recently or the fact that the stars did indeed look beautiful. She sighed faintly before turning and greeting the student who'd taken a seat beside her. "Good Evening..." She said coolly, her Italian accent making her words seem rich, even in their softness.
