LIKES:

• animals: one could say that this is a trait that simply runs in his family, but Jackson can honestly say that he really does like animals. He finds them to be excellent companion, and enjoys the challenge of understanding how to tame them. In the last few years, he has forayed into the world of the more complicated, forbidden, and misunderstood animals, and has enjoyed much success in the area.
  
• women: the word "womanizer" may be something you hear commonly following Jackson's name. Truthfully, he has always been more of the "hit it an quit it" type, avoiding serious relationships and their complications. He has never seen the point of settling into a relationship at a young age, and has no desire to do so. He also secretly fears that he is emotionally inadequate to support a woman.
  
• alcohol: much of this hails from his Scottish bloodline, though his tastes have long since blossomed away from their traditional drink. He enjoys spending a night out on the town as often as his busy schedule allows.
  
• travelling: how could anyone not be interested in seeing what other places in the world hold? There are just so many things to see and do, new information to discover and people to meet, not to mention new beasts and beings to tame and learn about. Jackson could likely happily spend the rest of his days travelling the world.
  
• money: there are people who don't? Money may not be everything, but it certainly provides the means by which to do many interesting things. What could be better than wooing women, buying them things, and seeing their face light up? Not to mention that money, as they say, talks. Sometimes greasing a few palms is all it takes to get that XXXXX rated animal into the country...
  
• music: music is an outlet for emotions. Jackson finds it incredible how it can invoke a host of feelings. He himself is a fiddler, and although he doesn't consider himself fantastic by any standards, he still enjoys the happiness it brings him.

DISLIKES:

• being stuck in one place: this goes along with his love for travel. Jackson would hate to find himself in a situation where he isn't free to go where he pleases, when he pleases.
  
• stupidity: there is a line between ignorance and sheer stupidity, and Jackson cannot tollerate the crossing of it. It's one thing to be uneducated, but it is entirely another to just be an idiot. He often wishes people would think before they open their mouths.
  
• transfiguration: Jackson never had a hand for the skill in his youth, and still struggles with it to this day. There was something about seeing a teacup scuttling across the tables in his third year that turned him off of the subject completely. He happily leaves it to the people that are best trained in it.
  
• muggle cities: besides the fact that they are crawling with the very people he so despises, he cannot fathom how they can stand to do anything without magic.
  
• oversimplicity: it irks Jackson when people make things seem more simple than they actually are. He feels like it is a sign of poor decision making and planning, and would much rather hear a long-winded version of a plan than just an overview.

STRENGNTHS:

• charismatic: Jackson's mother openly admit that her son had to do little but bat his eyelashes to get something he wanted as a child. Little has changed since then, it seems. His personality has the ability to draw people in when he desires it to. This trait has expanded to being able to subtly manipulate those around him to get his own way.
  
• charms: one of his very favourite subjects in school, next to Care of Magical Creatures, of course. In his adult years, he also found that his skills in the subject gave him a particular flare for some types of Dark Magic, though he is careful in dabbling in those.
  
• loyal: Jackson was brought up to put his complete trust in those closest to him, and to put his heart into his convictions. As such, he is extremely loyal to the things, people, and causes that he chooses to be.
  
• resourceful: Though Jackson never grew up having to make do, he certainly is familiar with the phrase. He enjoys the challenge of using the things around him to handle situations he finds himself in. Whether it be enchanting a small stuffed toy to distract a woman while he escapes from her apartment, or turning seemingly nothing into a fantastic meal, Jackson enjoys seeing what he can make of the world around him.
  
• tenacious: also referred to as stubborn, though he prefers the former description. He will happily pursue anything that he desires until he obtains it, and will rarely give up that chase. He is a man that knows what he wants, and he is stubborn enough to keep trying until he gets it.
  
• ambitious: Jackson has always been the one to think big. Whether it be dreams for his family's company, moving up in the ranks of the Death Eaters, or simply trying to run an extra mile, he always wants to do and be better.
  
• patient: for all of the things in the world that bother him, Jackson is a patient man. He will hold his tongue in uncomfortable situations, and do his best to tollerate and participate.

WEAKNESS:

• ego: Jackson has never viewed himself as anything less than a catch. He is a well-off, educated, good looking young man. What is there not to like, really? As such, he is often easily wounded when someone takes a jab at him, and can quickly become defensive and irritable.
  
• temper: Linked to his ego, Jackson has a quick temper. His family has referred to him as a firecracker, quick to anger when he jumps to conclusion. He generally has trouble controlling his emotions, able to switch from high to low before you can blink.
  
• a pretty woman: isn't this self-explanatory? Who can say no to a pretty woman who is trying her best to get your attention?
  
• detached: Although he does have a quick temper, there are several situations in which he finds it is easy to separate emotions from action. For example, he's always found himself quite adept at this when it comes to women. It's also not uncommon for him to detach himself when performing Death Eater duties.
  
• prejudiced: it's hard not to be when your grandmother is Araminta Melliflua, a witch who tried to get a Bill passed that would make Muggle hunting legal. Though he doesn't hold the pure disgust and hatred as his grandparents do, Jackson holds himself above Muggles and Halfbloods, and will not tollerate them getting in his way.

OVERALL PERSONALITY: In a lot of ways, Jackson is a self-absorbed spoiled brat. Her grew up in an environment that only rewarded perfection, whether it be in appearance or actions. As such, he has developed a large ego, willing to spend much time working on his appearance. He can often come off as brash and overly bold as a result of his overdeveloped self-confidence. However, growing up in such an environment has also resulted in more than one positive trait. Jackson is loyal and ambitious, willing to do nearly anything for the causes and people he believes in. He pursues what he wants, when he wants it, and refuses to settle for less than the best. However, Jackson is also very prejudiced, specifically against Muggles and Halfbloods. Much of this stems from the copious amount of time spent with his maternal grandmother, Araminta Melliflua, as a child. He believes that Muggles force Wizarding kind into the shadows, and resents them strongly for it. Although he still feels he is above Halfbloods, he finds their presence more forgivable, as one cannot be blamed for their parents' mistakes. Overall, Jackson is not terribly difficult to get along with, provided that you don't rub him the wrong way.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION: Jackson is a very well-kept man, partly because of his ego, and partly because of the nature of his job. His hair is neatly mussed and held in place with a bit of gel at all times. His skin is clear, and he generally sports little stubble, preferring the clean shaven look and feel. His eyes are a stark contrast to his dark hair, being grey blue. Jackson had his teeth straightened as a teenager, and he now sports a rather dazzling white smile. Jackson stays in top shape whenever possible, preferring weight training to nearly any other type of physical training. His body is defined but lean, not carrying a large amount of bulk.

When it comes to clothes, Jackson prefers only the finest. Much of the time, he is in a suit, rarely seen outside of his home not wearing one. When he does have some time off, he prefers jeans, fitted t-shirts, button up shirts, and the occasional pull-over sweater. Unless you've lived with him on a bad day, you won't see him in sweatpants. Ever.

OVERALL HISTORY: The Archer family traces back to Brandubh the Grey and Meadhbh the Clever, an early pair of wizarding Scots. Though they themselves never held titles or political office, they were a relatively well-known family, famed for their ability to tame even the nastiest of beasts. Taking on the surname of Boghdóir in the summer of 1590, they began to take their business of taming and caring for beasts int a more professional realm. Sidheag Boghdóir was the first of the family to open a business for selling animals to the general public, taking great pride in the measure of care they received. She was the first of many in the Boghdóir family to open such a business.

The family generally married into other Pureblooded families, though it was not completely uncommon for them to mix with Muggle-born families and Halfbloods alike. When the Boghdóir clan came to England in the mid-1800s, they began using the English translation of their surname, Archer, in order to avoid confusion about the pronunciation of the name in business. Though they own several businesses throughout Europe, the most well-known in England is Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley.

Jackson was the first of the Archer children to be born. His parents and grandparents doted on him from a young age, and the same occurred to the siblings that followed him, Calum and Arline. Their parents allowed them to dabble in what they wished to as children, so the Archer children rarely heard the word "no". Jackson was exposed to flying at an early age, picking up on it at a standard pace for someone so young. His mother often disapproved of this, owing to the fact that her children were quite fearless for being so small. He and his siblings also dabbled in traditional Scottish instruments, Jackson settling on fiddle and a small amount of vocals, while Arline excelled in vocals, and Calum found a niche in bagpipes. Each child was brought up speaking English and Gaelic, languages that Jackson can speak to this day.

In the summers, Jackson and his siblings would often visit their grandparents. The Mellifluas had a particularly strong influence on the children, and it is to them that they can really owe their distaste for Muggles, and the resulting darker allegiances.

Jackson was the first of the Archers to attend Hogwarts, and was sorted into Slytherin like his family before him. He made friends easily, not finding it difficult to get along with those in his house. Jackson found his niche quickly in Charms and, not surprisingly, Care of Magical Creatures. His grades were generally high enough to please himself and his parents. These years were rather uneventful, although it should be noted that it was here that he began to really pay attention to the opposite sex, and eventually learned to enjoy their company.

When Jackson graduated, he joined his father in running Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley, quickly saving up enough money to buy himself a home and a small piece of land in Oxfordshire, where he resides today. Around the same age, his parents introduced him to members of the Death Eaters, and he soon found himself a member. He was attracted to the idea that Muggles should not be so easily able to keep the Wizarding community hidden away. At twenty-five years old, Jackson's father handed the business over to his son, and it has continued to grow ever since.

During the Battle of Hogsmeade, a friend of Jackson's, Evina Sileas, was killed in the crossfire. They had found friendship in one another in the months prior, although they had known each other while students at Hogwarts. Jackson visited her grave a week after the battle, not long after Evina had been buried, meaning to leave flowers. As he approached, he saw that someone else was there, so he paused, meaning to give them their moment as he hoped someone else would do for him. Peculiarly, the cloaked figure did nothing more than pass a lit candle over the grave before disappearing. Thinking nothing of it, Jackson approached her grave, only to be shocked by the small hand of Evina clawing it's way out of the ground. He helped to dig her out, not thinking about the reason that the woman was even alive. It was only when she'd finally been pulled from the Earth and he'd brushed the dirt from her cheek that he realized: Evina had been sired.

Petrifying her, Jackson cleaned her grave up, making it appear as though the patch of snow-covered earth. He Apparated Evina to a small abandoned shack at the edge of his property, charming it to keep her from escaping and to prevent anyone but himself from stumbling upon it. Jackson really had no idea what he was doing, but he felt a certain amount of responsibility to keep Evina safe and out of harm's reach. Over the following weeks, he visited her daily, trying to bring her back to the woman she had been. He found it very difficult to get her enough to eat, which likely is contributing to her slow rehabilitation. Nonetheless, he makes a serious effort to spend time with her whenever his work and life allow for it.
