The mansion was decorated accordingly, with tinsel and wreaths and so much more. Bright reds and greens covered the entire ballroom, complete with a real Christmas tree at one end of the hall. Druella had bewitched the tree and decorated with ornaments, which had always been Narcissa's favorite part. She loved finding the perfect place for each one so that it could be seen and appreciated like the rest. The elves had truly outdone themselves with everything else this year and Narcissa thought it was perfect. No sooner had Druella finished putting the last touches on the ballroom, than she was rushing Narcissa up the stairs to clean herself up and get ready with her sisters for the party. Their elite guests would be arriving soon and she wasn't about to be seen in anything less than a fine gown. Not many people realized the level of attention to detail Narcissa gave her appearance. Nothing was every out of place and when she was completely finished, everything looked flawless. Tonight however, she paid even more attention to the small details. A certain blond wizard was going to be among her guests and Cissy wanted him to only have eyes for her this evening. Just thinking about him now made her heart beat a little faster and caused the butterflies in her stomach to flutter even harder. She looked up into the mirror and laughed when she realized she was smiling simply because she had thought of him. After what had seemed like hours of doing make up and hair, her mother had come back upstairs to help Cissy slip into her dress. All three Black girls would be wearing black colored gowns with different colored jewelry, which happend to be early Christmas presents from their father and mother. The black strapless gown slid over her smooth, pale skin and fit like a glove. Turning back into the mirror, Narcissa took in her fill appearance. There was absolutely no way Lucius was going to think about anyone but her tonight, of that she was sure. ......... The guests has started arriving only moments after Narcissa and her sister's had made it downstairs. All five Blacks greeted their familiar guests and welcomed them into their home. Cissy had known almost all of them for her entire life. Pureblood society wasn't exactly growing rapidly with new members but there were still plenty of people Narcissa didn't know. She greeted a few more people before her parents dismissed her and her sisters to wander off into the crowd to mingle. She had yet to see Lucius and Narcissa was starting to grow anxious. Andromeda told her to just relax and enjoy the party, that young Master Malfoy would undoubtedly be joining them soon. Narcissa wasn't even really sure why she was so anxious about Lucius' impending arrival. While her feelings for him made her want to spend as much time with him as possible, she couldn't ever be sure that he saw her in the same romantic light. What if tonight was just like the rest? Some small part of her said it was a special night but a larger part said not to get her hopes up. Men were impossible when it came to reading emotions, especially pureblooded men. Knowing that dancing was a fantastic way to get her mind off things, Cissy accepted an invitation from her cousin. The pair laughed as the whirled around the dance floor with the rest of the guests. Dancing was such a joy for her. The movements felt so free and graceful and could have carried on all night that way but all the fast paced dancing soon took it's toll. Cissy thanked her dear cousin and excused herself to find some fresh air and give her legs a chance to rest. The gardens were her favorite part of her home and, luckily enough, could be reached by simply stepping out of the grand double doors of the ballroom. When she stepped out into the night, the icy chill caused her to pull the wrap she had around her shoulders even closer. Snow covered just about every inch of the gardens and grounds like a soft white blanket. Looking up into the dark sky that was littered with stars and smiled. WORDS: 741 . NOTES: HOPE IT'S OKAY! .
