N.E.W.T. BALL
Welcome, One And All
To the annual N.E.W.T. Ball
The Annual N.E.W.T. ball takes place during the midterm and is opened to sixth and seventh year students only. The only other year group allowed in attendance are fifth years so long as they are the date of an older classmate. The ball was first initiated to help relieve the noticeable stress placed on students by the amount of studying placed on them by the N.E.W.T.s (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests).
“Despite recent events, our plan is to continue forward and try and make this year as normal as any other for the students. With the added burdens of the recent attacks and the losses suffered from said attacks, the Professors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have worked tirelessly to see to it that their charges are as prepared as ever for what lies beyond the safety of the castle walls.”
Arnold Blishwick of the Hogwarts Board of Governors was quoted in last weeks Daily Prophet to announce that the N.E.W.T. ball would not be cancelled, and as promised, the ball is here! Open to sixth and seventh year students (and fifth years should an older student invite them along) the ball consists of specially booked entertainment and is, first and foremost, a school dance!
In light of recent events, Hogwarts has been playing host to Ministry Volunteers and Hogsmeade Citizens who have been graciously invited to attend the ball as well. Adults and students are invited to relax, dance, mingle and enjoy just a little bit of light in these dark times.
