Molly Weasley was very proud of Fed and George. She
originally did not want them to go into the joke shop business, and protested
that to them. However, they didn’t listen to her warnings and pleas. (When do they
ever?) And as Molly walked around the shop, she had to admit for once she was
happy that they ignored her. After all, they were now successful businessmen,
and Molly would not stop them from feeling proud of themselves. She enjoyed
going to the joke shop whenever she had a chance. She didn't have much of a use
for any of the pranks, but that didn’t mean that she could get a laugh out of
some of the ideas.
Of course, this was more of an internal laughter, as she
would never outwardly condone her son’s making treats to get students out of
class. However, she could admit that
they were quite clever. But after a half-hour she was ready to leaving, having
had enough fun for one day. She exited the shop just as it started to get busy,
which always seemed like a good idea so she wasn’t in any of the customer’s
way. Molly was planning on going home, but a store across the street caught her
eye.
The Magical Menagerie was right across the street, and Molly
couldn’t stop herself from wanting to go in and have a look around at all of
the adorable animals. She never got one because they were too much work, but
she absolutely adored looking at the kittens they had. She didn’t go there
often enough, though. The strong smell of pets hit her when she entered the
store. She stopped to stare at some of the toads, creatures that she was never
really fond of. But there was one that kept staring at her, so she wanted to
look at it before moving on.
The cats were close by, mewing loudly at people who passed.
Surprisingly, the store was only filled with a few people, all dispersed throughout
the store, so she had no problem talking to the cats. There was one kitten with
a particularly loud cry, so she chose to talk to him first, “Hello, you are
cute, aren’t you? I bet you just want to be adopted, yeah?” She felt bad for
the poor cat. Molly straightened up, hoping nobody heard her just talking
baby-talk to the cat, or else she would have probably died of embarrassment.
Molly pulled herself together, about to move onto other animals.
