"Class dismissed, have a good day everyone."
Professor McGonagall's voice rang out over the silence. Students put down their quills and hurriedly gathered their books. Classes were over for the day, students could now prepare for supper and personal time. Class had been relatively simple today, the Professor was merely going over things from last year, making sure students knew what they were doing prior with going forward on new lessons.
Eden stood. She slowly gathered her things and made her way out the door and down the hallway. Though, her particular direction was the opposite of the chattering students. She was headed to a darker part of the hall, a secluded part, where most of the doors were locked and all the rooms empty. Eden had different plans for the evening, she was not ready to eat yet.
She slid her fingers along the doorknobs, most of which gave no leeway as she walked. When one jiggled slightly, Eden stopped, turned her attention to the door and turned the knob gingerly. The door creaked open, revealing a classroom, complete with chairs and desks. She smiled faintly... this would do perfectly.
She slipped inside silently, moving toward the front of the classroom. Setting her bag down on the desk beside her, Eden peered forward to the teacher's desk and chair. This was her best option. Eden took a few steps forward and slid her wand out from her robes, tapping the tip of it elegantly on the wood as she whispered the spell required to change the desk into a piano. Slowly, but surely, the desk swirled and transformed into a simple grand piano. Eden smiled.
She walked around to the front of the piano, waiting a moment before reaching out and sliding her fingers along the keys. She was not pressing down hard enough to make any noise, she merely wished to feel their smooth texture before she took a seat, slipping her hands beneath her backside to press her skirt against her thighs.
She moved her fingers back and forth swiftly, loosening the muscles and preparing to play. Licking her lips, she slid her fingers across the keys once more, this time moving to specific keys and holding their. She in took a breath, before pressing down the keys and beginning to play. Her hands flowed effortlessly across the keys, as if they were meant to make the beautiful music that erupted from the piano's strings.
Eden began to sway back and forth slightly as she played through the first movement of Beethoven's 14th Piano Sonata, the Moonlight Sonata, Eden's most favorite of Beethoven's accomplishments. She closed her eyes as she continued to play the piece, a serene smile falling onto her lips, though her expression seemed slightly pained, she let the beauty of the music take her away.
All faded around her, everything went dark, as the music continued to flow from her fingers. She was no longer in school, she was no longer burdened by the pains of her past, by the horrors and the memories she'd lost to the trauma of her childhood. At this very moment, she was at peace, surrounded by nothing but music.
