He found himself fidgeting and squirming during his classes. Snape had even made sure to deduct a few points for it. Nothing could take him off of cloud nine, though. If last night had been fantastic, today was about to be the best day of his entire life. He’d scarfed down breakfast that morning, barely even tasting his food. Noah just planned on making it through classes as quickly as possible. Honestly, Noah hadn’t listened to a thing any of his professors had said all day. He knew it was terrible, but he didn’t care. Noah just wanted the afternoon to roll around. Today he was going to try and get Pippa to fly. Pippa, his darling, wonderful Pippa. He’d awoken this morning thinking that the previous night had been a dream. Luckily for him, it had all been very real. When he’d seen her that morning at breakfast, he had felt the cheesy grin spread across his features. It was like everyone knew something had happened between them. The air around them felt different. Noah found that he was literally walking in the clouds. He’d never been happier, and this afternoon was going to solidify their newfound relationship and the way in which they could work together to accomplish something. Noah had gone to lunch with some of his buddies. He hadn’t seen Pippa there, and he was a bit worried she was going to skip out on him. They’d plan to meet at the quidditch pitch, and although he knew her terror of flying, he also knew that she wouldn’t just ditch him without saying. He was fully prepared for Pippa to come with a million and two excuses as to why she shouldn’t try this today. Last night had almost seemed too easy. He didn’t have to do much bribing or coercing. In fact, she had pretty much agreed from the get go. It was all very surprising to him, since he’d been trying to get her to do this for years and years. However, he placed his trust in her, and if she had promised him she would try, he was definitely going to hold her to that promise. After eating, he’d gone to the common room with the guys and climbed towards his room. He hadn’t taken his broom back over to the pitch yet, since tryouts hadn’t happened yet. After tryouts, he would be able to keep his broom over there in the locker room. Grabbing it carefully, he smiled. Just feeling the smooth wood beneath his hands was enough to soothe any of his worries. There was nothing in the world like being on a broomstick. To Noah, quidditch had always been everything. The only thing that made him serious was a quidditch match. Now that Pippa was in his life as more than a friend, she had suddenly taken a large spot in his life, sharing the spotlight that quidditch usually had. Making his way back to the ground floor, Noah found that he was nearly running. He couldn’t help it, he was excited. Exiting the castle, he began the lengthy walk towards the pitch. It was a familiar route, one that usually was accompanied by butterflies in his stomach and nerves right before a big match. Today, he felt a different kind of nervous. Today was all about having fun. He was the excited kind of nervous, and it made him quicken his step slightly. Finally reaching his destination, Noah was glad to see that no one else was around. That could have made matters much worse. Pippa probably would have refused instantly. Because the season hadn’t started yet, Noah had felt confident about having the pitch to themselves. Pippa wasn’t there yet. He was a few minutes early, so he wasn’t too worried – yet. Taking the time to his advantage, he easily slipped onto his broom and kicked off the ground, enjoying the familiar sensation of flying. The wind moved past him as he climbed higher in the air, weaving and bobbing around a bit. He kept his eyes trained to the ground, waiting to see Pippa appear. For now though he spent his time whizzing around on his broom, the wind pushing his hair away from his face. There was no better feeling in the world than being on a broomstick. words 754 tagged PIPPA <3 notes Yay! Flying time. I can’t wait for this. NOPA <3 coded by becky! of caution 2.0 |
