Fred was leaning over a cauldron grumbling and leaning over one of his books. On the pages his scribbling was almost impossible to read. He made a mental note to be a tad neater next time so he wouldn’t be having such a hard time recreating his potion. A week or so ago him and George had created a new form of love potion. There wasn’t much different about it except for that it tasted a little better and lasted a little longer if the girl wasn’t as attractive. They weren’t exactly sure how to market it yet though because a ‘potion for ugly girls’ would come off a bit offensive. A smirk tugged at a corner of his mouth at the thought though.
He glanced at the watch on his wrist, wondering how George was doing in the front of the store. Most days they would both be in the front but today they happened to be a little behind in production and Fred suggested that he wok in the back for most of the day. He was staring to regret his decision because of how lonely he was getting. There was no one to joke with or make fun of and he was left to his own company and thoughts. Well, this is no fun at all, He thought, rummaging through the supplies to find some ashwinder eggs. When he didn’t find any he inwardly groaned. He had completely forgotten to restock some of the items and now he would have to order them. His face crinkled at the thought of mentioning it to George and he thought that maybe he could sneak the order without his brother noticing. The idea made him laugh at himself. It was completely ridiculous and of course George would notice. With a huff he went through the rest of the ingredients and made sure the rest were in the storage. It seemed that the only thing he was missing was the ashwinder eggs. The inconvenience of it annoyed him to no end.
Before heading to the front of the store he checked the watch again. They usually closed up in about an hour and they would be able to make the order then. Hopefully it wasn’t too busy in the front and he decided that it was time to help out his dear brother. Being away from him for this long was starting to bother him. It was a bit unnerving really and he couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like when they were both married with separate lives. He shook the thought away as quickly as it came. It wasn’t really something he wanted to dwell upon.
When everything was packed up in the back room he checked his robs for his wand and slipped through the door. In the main part of the store it still seemed to be buzzing with customers. It was great in that they made ridiculous amounts of Galleons, but it was extremely exhausting. Fred treaded around the store, straightening objects on the shelves with a flick of his wand. He made his way over to the skiving snack boxes and smirked at a boy who popped one into his mouth. Seconds later blood gushed out of the boy’s nose at an alarming rate. “You really should ask before you try something,” he said, eyebrows raised in obvious amusement.
