Anyone in the world could ask him about his job and he’d love telling him or her every single detail about what he does and how much he enjoys it. Still though, like everyone else the stress got to him once and awhile. Though he loved it, it got a little tiring every day. He needed a vacation, not that he had anyone to vacation with. He had an extreme lack of relationships in his life. Maybe that was something he should work on during his time off. It seemed like a good idea, a little less reading and a little more relationship building. On his clock he still had another hour until the end of his shift, where he’d return home to nothing but his owl Hermes. He wasn’t sure at what point his life turned into it. Of course he wasn’t happy, but he pretended that he was. That was Percy, happy as a clam, without a family or anyone real to talk to besides a bloody owl. He huffed at his desk and pushed rather large stack of papers away from him. Finally he was done reading over them. It was part of his scribes from the other day he was proofreading, making sure everything was perfect before handing them over. Now, with a little under and hour left he didn’t know what to do with himself. Delivering the papers was of course an option, but that wouldn’t talk that much time. For once he was actually considering walking slow and taking his time, slaking a little for lack of a better work. Percy Weasley was not one to mosey along or slack when something needed to be done, but nothing needed to be done. He stood up from his desk, pushed his glasses up on his nose, and grabbed the stack of papers. He made sure to keep them neat and align as he left his office, leaving the door open behind him as he left. It bothered him that it was open and he actually had to go back and shut it before taking the walk to the office on the floor above him. Instead of taking the stairs it would be easier to just take an elevator. So, he headed for the elevators with the stack of papers in hand. When he reached it though he frowned. So many people were already in the available one, so he’d have to wait. He did have a lot of time to kill though and so he tried to relax, something he wasn’t particularly good at doing. His foot tapped on the ground and he glanced at his watch. If anything he looked more impatient than anything. He went to get in the other elevator, but there was a girl standing in his way. She didn’t look at all familiar either. He took one look at her and pressed his lips together before he opened his mouth to speak. “Excuse me, but you’re in my way,” he said, realizing how ridiculously rude that sounded now that he said it. This is why your only companion is that ruddy owl, he thought, mentally chastising himself as he waited for her to answer... or slap him. Word count: 543 :: Tag: closed :: Note: no |
