Leave us kids alone! No dark sarcasm in the classroom. Teacher leave them kids alone. All in all your're just another brick in the wall It was a quiet and comparably relaxed afternoon in the Ravenclaw common room, the first week was only three days in and therefore people were still finding into the old routine again after the summer break. Eirian just returned from the first Quidditch training and while her limbs and especially her hands were quite tired, her head surely wasn’t and made her feel like organizing a little. She’d like to get an overview over the general course this year was to take and how she’d best prepare for it or even work a little in advance. Maybe she would ask Eden later, if she had any plans yet. They weren’t truly to be called close, even though they had shared a dorm room for now six years, but they had established a routine of studying together for a while now and Eirian liked working with Eden and her brilliant mind. It encouraged her to work harder and more precize, when she had a counterpart at her side who egged her on with her ideas and her insights. A pack of school books in her arm, Eirian settled down in one of the couches near the fireplace – but not too near of course – and started to sort them out by relevance. Ever since having been given some pointers and instructions by Bill Weasley just a few weeks ago, Eirian was thoroughly considering pursueing a career in the rough direction of cursebreaking, even though she had found out to her surprise, she probably wouldn’t meet all the requirements for it. Ancient Runes, Ancient Studies and Arithmancy wouldn’t pose a problem at all in her opinion, she’d score an E in her N.E.W.Ts next year if she hadn’t a total blackout, but… Potions?! That would be difficult indeed, and Eirian was already considering asking her Head of House, and of course the Potions Master, if she could slip into the classes after all… but then, the old-new Potions Master would be Snape… and he knew all too well of her slight incababilities concerning kettles over a burning fire towards her feet… Maybe… maybe what she needed would be some sort of shock therapy?! Who knew what kind of curses she might be faced with should she really try for such a job in the future. They could very well linked to fire in some way and then where would she be?! Shocked and immobilized by fear, she might end up dying or being seriously injured… making a total fool out of herself. But how to go about such a shock therapy? Would she even come out of that halfway sane? Sighing, Eirian put that thought aside to deal with later, and focused again on her books. Ancient Runes and Arithmancy first, then. Those where the subjects she loved most anyway, and to have them as he highest priority wouldn’t go amiss either. Too bad she didn’t quite remember what Eden had signed up for, but there would be plenty of time to ask her anyway. Eirian really hoped that Eden would not be averse to continuing their study sessions this year, even though she also liked studying on her own, especially when it came towards some special assignments. Suddenly something seemed to block out the light from the fireplace, so Eirian could hardly read the tiny words in the book anymore, so she looked up to see who was just walking by. © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY PINK FLOYD OUTFIT: HERE | 564 WORDS | NOTES: hope this is okay |
