Dear Agony; Liam O'Brien

Growing up Liam was one of those guys that you could always go to if you needed someone to back you up, whether it was in a fight or just needing someone to talk to. He was often one to make a joke or even pull a prank or two. He would always go to great lengths to help someone out, especially someone he cared for – no matter what the risks. He also has what his friends call a 'big brother complex' but he just says that when your the eldest of five that's usually what happens. He rarely thinks of his own well-being before that of others, which is probably one reason he went to become an Auror after school. He didn’t care if it was a dangerous job, he just wanted to do something that would let him protect people. Though sense the death of his wife his natural caring and fun loving nature has become more buried beneath the surface, leaving a sometimes cold and calculating Auror that is mostly all business. He is usually described as more ‘brooding’ then fun loving.

Since his wife's death Liam hasn't been to great with making friends - he has been all business and what some people would call grumpy. Most of the friends he has would of been long term that understand why he is keeping to himself - otherwise they have their work cut out for them ;]


As a member of the Order and Hit Wizard not to mention a muggle born - Death eaters are pretty high up on the list of enemies for him probably but I would love to plot some more out.


Since he is still mourning his wife all things involving Liam in love will be non existent or possibly one sided. (except for his final which has already been plotted )

Hey xD Well, I just had a little idea since you mentioned Liam might help out Rosmerta in the Three Broomsticks sometimes. Have you already decided if you want to join in the Hogsmeade battle? If so, I might have an idea for a threesome thread between you, Rosmerta and Eirian. She could be customer there, talking to them both maybe when the Deatheaters hit, and then they have to fight together? Liam would be gold of course, he and Rosmerta could look after Eirian a bit, since she's just a student and not an expert in duelling XD What say you?

Anyhow, I have some peeps you might be interested in chatting with, first is Aurora Sinistra, the Astronomy Professor. She often finds herself in the Three Broomsticks and about Hogsmead so I could see them running into one another. She's a few years older than him so the likelihood of them at least knowing of one another is possible as well. ^^ I could even understand her knowing of his wife's death and possibly knowing his wife. So ya.

--- Okay, so, Nathanyal is much older than Liam, but they share one seriously thing in common. They are both widowers. Nathanyal has lived with his pain for nearly twenty years and actually has a son, whom he presumes is dead. He in fact is not, but I digress. I think Nathanyal might see Liam and see his emotions personified through personal experience. He may see Liam's anguish and it reminds him of his own at that time and perhaps a friendship can be build upon his attempt to help him through it?

That would be great, except I actually have it that Liam being posted in Hogsmeade is a effect of the battle. He actually helps Rosemerta with some of the rebuilding. Would Eirian possibly come down to help one weekend?

I could really see that happening, with the wound still new Liam is pulling back from allot of people and I think he would be more accepting of Nathanyals help because he actually knows what he is going through. I think their shared pain could build a possibly strong friendship - is that bad? XD

Gabriel & Liam

Friendly-Neutral;;

Gabriel has a reputation amongst the Ministry as 'the demon prosecutor', and has an almost Slytherin ambition to him, but is in fact a very proud Hufflepuff alumni. He's very good at both his job, and keeping things neutral. That said, he has a secret fondness for the Aurors and Hit Wizards especially.

Gabe's mother, Morphiesa Turner, is a retired Hit Wizard currently working on the Obliviation Squad. It is likely that Liam would have known her during his training period and quite possible that she lectured some of his classes before her retirement to the O.S. I think it would be neat if these two had something less neutral and more friendly as a result of that.

Severus & Liam

Neutral-Non Existant;;

Chances are these two will never interact. Severus stays clear of the Ministry; his status among them is that of a spy, but he is by no means friendly with them, nor they him. Politics and Severus have never really gotten along, and he has very little love of Hit Wizards, for many reasons. If he met with Liam at any point, chances are he would be perfunctorily polite and would go on about his day as though the encounter never occurred xD

The only thing I could see happening between these two would be something when we hit the seventh year, which will be some time from now so - neutral.

Friendly-Working Relationship;;

As a member of the Order, Albus is of course quite fond of Liam. Having a Hit Wizard on the team is of course quite beneficial as well; Albus will be most friendly with Liam, though of course will expect much of him, as he does all those who are within the Order's ranks.

Okay, silly Mete needs to shut up. Bill and Liam, I think, would get on thick as thieves. They are both Gryffindor alumni and they were in the same year. As I play Bill, he started out trying for the Auror program and was like 'Nope, this is not my cup of tea...' and ended up recruited into Curse Breaking which he looooves.

I think it might be MAJOR epic if the reason he did the Auror training was not just because he thought Aurors to be cool, but because it was what Liam wanted to do as well, and he wanted to stick with his mate ;3 They end up going separate ways, but I think it'd be epic if they still stayed close; and I can see Bill being supremely supportive during the loss of Liam's wife, as well, which would give Liam another person to rely on about that I suppose.

Hi Nicky! I said I'd come by and look so here it is, plottage! Obv we don't have to do this but... Iris is currently in the process of applying to become an Auror and her ultimate dream is to become a hit wizard, though she's really concerned that once, or IF she finally does, she'll have to kiss her dreams of having a family goodbye, so she would want to converse with one about it. Also, I'm plotting with Andie at the moment for a great friendship between the two so they would also see each other around with that going on, I'm sure.

I like that plan Liam could probably be like ‘no one with a mum that cool can’t be so bad’ So I could see the two of them being rather friendly, even though Liam was never that fond of the trail part of putting wizards away. Who knows maybe they can go out back and have a cigarette sometime xP

Even though Liams views of the Ministry are getting rather not nice as of late I agree that it would probably be awhile before they ran into eachother. Unless Liam stumbled up to the castle at some point and even then I doubt that anything he feels towards Severus right away wouldn’t exactly be nice – since Liam rarely trusts anyone who has anything to do with Death Eaters. Though he would be polite unless given a reason to be otherwise. So agree neutral

I see Liam holding allot of respect for the Headmaster – having remembered him from his old school days and reading allot about his exploits so I would see him honored to be in the order for that much but also slightly worried he would disappoint. I think that would be a great idea! xD Maybe Iris could want to meet her friends new ‘partner’ since he is a hit wizard and all and can want to ask what it is like and everything.
