He really is amazing at what he does. In the book, it was hard for me to read because I had guessed from the ending of the Half-Blood Prince why he had killed Albus - and I still loved Severus. I would have loved him if I had been proven wrong about him, but I was dead right (I won over fifty dollars on the bets I made about it XD) So seeing it in the theater and on tv was a special sort of torture. Partly because I was afraid it would be done wrong the first time, then later because I knew just how well it was done.

I absolutely adore the opportunity to explore the relationship Severus had with Charity that caused her to reach out to him then, to trust that he would try and save her even when completely surrounded by Death Eaters and sitting beside the Dark Lord himself. I always felt it was more than just a desperate plea to the only person she recognized - and I'm looking forward to expanding on it as such. I'm so glad to see Charity, let me tell you XD

I believe Charity will see Severus as a friend long before he sees her the same way, but I'm certain he won't be too far behind her as this year starts rolling. The fact she is able to handle him regardless of his moods will be a good asset for her, and it will help Severus come to like her on a more meaningful level over the course of things. Severus doesn't let people in easily, and those who get in are let go of with even less ease, so he tends to be careful whom he truly befriends.

I know as it becomes more clear that Fabien is not leaving the Dark Lord that Severus will grow alarmed for Charity and the children and will begin spending more time with her in the staffroom. He'll also make himself more available to her Slytherin boys and, to show precisely how worried he has become, will begin making himself available to her children who aren't in his house.

I imagine Charity will notice Severus being more active around her other two children, which might set off warning bells for her, which could lead to her starting to figure more things out about Fabien and what's happening.

I'm not sure what Severus will do when he learns of the plans for Charity - as it will be such a horribly delicate situation for him. If she finds out about it, they will know it was through him, so he'll have to be so careful. Hopefully though, something will be figured out and maybe, just maybe, something will change! Who knows.

Severus && Charity,

A mixture of things will begin to draw on Charity’s suspicions. Severus’s behaviour, Narcissa’s behaviour and of course Fabien’s behaviour. The idea is that Charity will work out a part of what might be going on, and Fabien will confess to her; however it will be too late. I would like all of this to end in Charity’s death, although it depends on how attached I become to her! She will disappear, Severus would be headmaster then, and obviously her children will be at Hogwarts wondering what has happened to their mother. Severus would know. I think that their friendship, will grow slowly, but she would put her trust in him because of Albus’s faith in Severus and what she had learnt about him over the years working with him at Hogwarts.

I guess in a sense the situation has a small resemblance to Severus’s situation with Lily knowing she was the target, so the failure again would be extremely difficult for him.
Aww their friendship is going to be so sad! But full of drama.

I will get round to starting a staff thread and we can see where it all goes from there?

I think it is going to be properly heartbreaking to go through all this, but at the same time I'm looking forward to it. If you get too attached to Charity for her to die, I'm sure Severus won't mind not having to bury someone else he cares about XD

That said, when Severus becomes Headmaster, its going to be so interesting and heartbreaking to see how he deals with Charity's kids after she disappears. If she is alive, not being able to tell them will be a torment - if she is dead, knowing he did nothing for her, that he was there, will make it so hard to look at them >:

I guarantee the friendship will be a slowly built one. Severus keeps his guard up so high not just because he has been so badly hurt in the past, but because he knows those who make it past his guards never leave, even if they should. One of his best friends is a sadistic killer and he knows this - but he still can't stop caring about Lucas. The woman he loved has been dead for over a decade, and he still can't stop loving her.

He feels too much for those who get close, and that, in his eyes, is a weakness - which is why its so, so hard to get close to him. Which is all the more reason this is going to be full of some really amazing drama, I think.

I will certainly be looking forward to the staff thread, you can bet on it ^_^

Charity&Colden

Obviously Colden would have known Charity when he was in Hogwarts, and again when he goes back to infiltrate the castle. Perhaps Colden under his disguise takes Muggle Studies and is part of the reason for her capture? Just a thought really but I don't see these two as ever being friends; when having to take Muggle Studies he wouldn't have enjoyed it much and would have probably found it dull and mundane. I think that even if Colden caused trouble in her lessons or was openly against muggles that Charity would be a bit sympathetic towards him because of his situation? Of course that would only annoy Colden and he isn't fond of being the subject of pity.

Being a student of muggle studies, and because she's a general teacher, Roxanna respects Charity and listens to her. She would have approached Charity before this year when she was first discovering her gifts as a seer and it's very, VERY likely that Chairty might or might not have known Taunt Marie and in fact for that matter, Roxanna's full story that she seldom shares with anyone for the fear that she does not like to worry them.

CHARITY & COLDEN
It seems very possible that Colden would be a part of capturing Charity as he has a prime opportunity to do so. When you say sympathetic to his situation do you mean because of his view on Muggles? If so she would unlikely to by sympathetic as she would see him as being extremely naïve about the possibility’s his views entail, as she sees those views as incrediably dangerous to society.

ROXANNA & CHARITY
Charity perhaps might have taken Roxy under her wing, going out of her way to ensure that Roxy is ok and coping with her new gifts well. I think Charity perhaps knows a tiny bit of Roxy’s stories, but isn’t fully sure on the details and doesn’t pry encase it upsets Roxy.

CHARITY & ISAAC
Hello Baby Boy! Hehe I think that Charity would see Isaac as the more independent twin. She perhaps feels that Elijah needs protecting more due to his secret and slightly more sensitive nature compared to Isaac. It’s possible she doesn’t think that Isaac needs her as much as Elijah does and is blind to his jealously over their relationship. Thoughts?

-makes grabby hands- momma! but baby burbage is here. out of the two parents, moira's most like her mother. if her looks didn't spoil it at all, anyway. i'm not sure what charity's aims for her only daughter would be, but i think moira would constantly be doing her best to make her parents proud whilst doing her best to be unique. the poor kiddo feels kind of pressurized to do something that nobody else has done because she thinks everyone in her family is so wonderful, and she wants to prove she's wonderful too. <3 she senses the discord at home, and it makes her very, very worried indeed. moira's the kind of child who would come to her mum if she was really concerned, but not until that point. it depends on what you think. feel free to scratch the idea or add on whatever you think would fit. i didn't want to make any assumptions.

Charity and Noel:

Noel took Muggle Studies until last year so she'd probably know him from class, plus his father and her husband are both death eaters so they'd know each other in some capacity. Personally, Noel agrees with Charity's work and hopes some good comes out of it, so he'd support her there as well.

Yaya! Charity’s baby girl! Charity just wants her children to be happy, and will support them in doing the things they love, so long of course it’s not something bad or dangerous. Charity’s very independent and rather headstrong, and I think she would try to teach Moria that kind of independence and tell her that she can do whatever she puts her mind to. As well as wanting her daughter to be happy with herself, and not feel she has to live up to people’s expectations, which clashes with how you’ve described Moria to feel and something which Charity would worry about. I think it’s likely if Moria sensed something was happening among the family she would speak to Charity, although I don’t know how she would deal with that. It would depend on where in the situation Moria asked.

CHARITY & NOEL
Hello! I get the impression that Charity would like Noel as a student and enjoy teaching him. She doesn’t know her husband is a death eater, so wouldn’t know about that side of Noel life, but would respect him as a student and his views.

I mean sympathetic because of him being an 'orphan' [or so everyone thinks] and the fact that he was basically surrounded by those who held those views so maybe Charity thinks he had little choice in the way he felt as he was just trying to find somewhere to fit in? weeeeell, marilyn, despite having two magical parents, is very interested in muggle customs; she loves their clothes, technology etc. so i think it would be natural for her to take muggle studies, and even though she is very polite to teachers, i think she would only think of charity as a teacher, but perhaps she could be one of her more trusted teachers.

i also think it would be cute if moira made regular visits to her mum's office, to check in with her and talk and stuff like that. like come in and do homework or something. but yeah, moira feels pressurized at times. being the youngest and all, i think that would be characteristic of her, but she wouldn't want her mom to worry (but then again, what child does?). and as far as the sensing discord in the family, i was thinking that maybe after a break or something, if something happens at home, then moira would talk to her mother about it. or if she sensed that there was something wrong with her mum during school. because i'd think a lot of the big problems would probably happen when all the family was together during a break or something. but then again i don't know for sure. but yus. moira loves her momma. <3
