[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #000000, width: 300px; height: 300px;] suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall “See you tomorrow!” Iris called out as she left the shop, the bell above the door sounding as she pushed through. She loved early shifts if only for the fact that she still had the entire day ahead of her when she got off work. She had a million things to do that day though, including grocery shopping and buying some more cat food for Mr. Whiskers. She was running low and didn’t want to wait until the last minute to pick up some cans of wet food. He always made sure to let his displeasure be known in various manners, including but not limited to shredding her curtains and peeing on her bed. She was also considering buying an owl. She hadn’t been in the habit of sending off frequent letters, but with the amount she had been sending and receiving in turn, continuing to use a post owl was inefficient and growing rather costly. In the long run it would be better to have her own, and it would be more convenient if she ever wanted to send off a letter when the post was closed. Besides, the post owls could be very nippy sometimes. She’d had to bandage her fingers from the last one pecking at them as she took the letter from it. Damned thing, she’d even given it treats when it fluttered in. Caught in her thoughts, Iris didn’t notice the blonde woman cross her path and she very nearly ran her over, reaching out to put her hands on the other girl’s shoulders in time to steady them both. She would have felt horrible if she’d caused them both to fall on the hard ground, not to mention even more embarrassed than she already was. “Sorry!” She exclaimed, quickly retracting her hands. “Didn’t mean to bumble into you like that. I should be paying more attention to where I’m walking.” Some perceptive wizard she was. There went a mark on her future Auror exam. That was, if she even made it past the writing competency test she had been scheduled for. Normally she had a little bit more confidence in herself but it was hard not to worry about it when this was the career she had set her heart on. © melly welly at caution 2.0 & LYRICS BY REGINA SPEKTOR Welcome to the site! |
