Wife: Charity Adeline Burbage Children: Twin Sons: Elijah and Isaac Burbage; Seventh Year Slytherins Son: Liam Burbage; Fifth Year Ravenclaw Daughter: Moira Burbage; Fourth Year Ravenclaw Wand: 11" Elm with Dragon Heartstring core. Though it is a myth long since disproven that only pure-bloods can wield elm wands, Fabien still uses it to his advantage. Most have come to realize that it is a legend, but others still believe in it and look up to those who's wand is Elm. Strengths: DETERMINATION. When Fabien sets his mind to something, he knows he will do it no matter what the cost. He will make himself promises and keep striving towards them until they are completed. He does not let others deter him from his path. Most of the time he is determined in keeping his family-- especially his outspoken wife-- safe. He will not let little bumps in his path make him give up either. When Fabien Burbage starts something, he sees it through till the end. LOYALTY. When he swears himself truthfully to someone, he stands behind that person. He has vowed his hand in marriage to his wife and-- though he has entangled himself in a wicked web of lies-- he has no intention of ever parting from her side. She may speak sharp things that distress and infuriate the Death Eater ranks he has joined, but he meant it when he said till death do you part. BLUNT. When given the chance, he is always harshly blunt with others. He will not lie to ease their feelings. Of course, this used to be fully true about him until the war began anew and he had to start lying to his family. He is still rather blunt to those beneath his station and who will do him no harm, and he still does not hold himself back when someone needs a lash of his tongue to set them straight. Weaknesses: FAMILY. He would do anything to keep his family safe. He even joined the ranks of Death Eaters when the Dark Lord rose again. He knew that it was the only way to keep them from being harmed. He would not be able to bear it if one hair on any of their heads' were hurt. He does not agree with the Death Eaters per se, and he wishes he could tear himself free, but he knows he must go there quietly in order to keep his loved ones from harm. A GOOD LIAR. Though he is not proud of this-- thus it is his weakness, especially with his family-- he is an accomplished liar. He can look someone straight in the eye and tell them a lie without blinking an eye. He will not give away one hint or clue that he is leading someone false. It helps him greatly as a Death Eater right now, but he tries not to use it too often on his family. It only causes cracks and strains. It is a weakness because, since it is so easy and simple to lie, he is starting to do it more often than not. HIS WIFE. His wife is almost separate from his family only because she is a whole boat of problems with her loud declarations about muggles. She believes in equal rights, she believes in stating her opinion no matter the consequences, and she is not afraid of the people who are more powerful than her. She states freely that muggles and wizards are not so very different from each other, and they should be able to mate if they wish. It would be good for wizard kind. The more she speaks on this subject, however, the harder it is for Fabien to protect her-- Death Eater or not. Personality: Fabien is charming when he wants to be. He can put on a brilliant smile and smoothly talk over any problem that might arise. He has been able to do this since youth. It has helped him greatly whenever his mother would become cross with him growing up. He is charismatic on his good days, and able to win people over to his side. It is how he has gotten so far in the Ministry. He is also extremely loyal to his family. He would do anything for them. He would lay down his life for his children and wife. He knows people in the ranks are becoming increasingly agitated by his wife and he is trying his best to smooth things over. He has a darker side, which helps him lie easier than most people would think. He can look someone straight in the eye and speak through his teeth, even knowing it is not the truth. People believe him to be truthful because of how charming he can be, how it seems like there is no way he could be leading them false. He has had a shorter temper lately than he used to. That can be attributed to the fact that Lord Voldemort is back and the higher up Death Eaters are getting angry at Charity. He snaps more often, and becomes increasingly volatile if someone brings up his wife in conversation. He is starting to become annoyed with her because she will not think of her own safety-- and the safety of her family-- and keep quiet about affairs that should not be expressed while the Dark Lord is at large. When not under pressure with death and the death of his family, he has a pretty decent humor. Before everything started to fall apart, he would laugh easily and enjoyed the company of his children and wife. He loved spending time together as a family and going on outings together. History: Fabien was born to a pure-blood family. He was not raised normally within their home, however, not for pure-bloods. His mother was very forward with her thinking and didn't not teach him to look down or hate others who were different from himself. For the most part, she did not tell him about the struggles wizards had against muggles and how some had blood purity on their minds constantly. She raised him as a young child and let him have his freedom while he still had the chance. His father was high up in the Ministry, and was not home very often. He was a distant figure in Fabien's life. From the day he was born until he went to Hogwarts, it was just his mother and him. His father visited occasionally when he could be spared from his full-time, all-hands-on job. He would bring Fabien a trinket, pat him on the head, and then go away to spend time with Fabien's mother. He did not have much time for his son. He was just proud he had one who could carry on the line and that was that. When Fabien turned eleven and received his letter, his mother was overjoyed. He went to Hogwarts with a loving kiss to his forehead and the reminder to be a good boy. He never saw his mother again. He received a letter from his father four months into his first year telling him the news that his mother was dead, and did not explain how it came to be. Fabien was heartbroken. His mother was the only family he had ever truly known. Fabien was less loving after that. He was more detached and aloof. He was cunning and he wanted to get ahead in the world, the Sorting Hat had spotted it within him and placed him in Slytherin. Though he did not have the blood mania the others had, he did have the desire to do great things and the guts to get ahead in life no matter the cost. His father found him to be dull and a simple child, and did not think he would go far. Fabien would prove the man wrong, or die trying. He would come out on top and in front of his father and he would prove to him that he was worthy of a father's love. He hid his indifference about blood rights and status well. He made sure never to answer one way or another on it. He didn't much care, honestly. His mother had been all for the rights of muggles and muggle borns, as well as half-bloods. His father had never been around long enough to express his opinion. Fabien didn't want to have an opinion on it, it would only complicate his goal of one day surpassing his father. He was set on that. His school days were rather dull. He studied hard and got good grades, graduated Hogwarts and took a job in the Ministry. When he went home during the summers of his Hogwarts years, there was usually no one there after he was fifteen. His father allowed him to be on his own and to fend for himself. When he was twelve until fifteen he sent distant relatives to keep him company and watch over him. When he took his job in the Ministry, he had no dreams that his father would come to him and be a family now, proud that he had gotten so far. His father did not. His father stayed away from him and did his own job, pretending not to notice his son. Fabien was a young, dashingly attractive man and soon enough he found a woman who enchanted him. Her name was Charity and she was the most beautiful woman he had set eyes on. It's what he told her and it's what he believed at the time because he had fallen for her. He took all of his breaks with her and ate lunch with her every chance he got. They grew closer and others whispered together and girls giggled that they were falling for each other. Imagine that! Coworkers in love! It was not long before Fabien knew he did not want to live without her. Though her passionate speeches about muggles and their rights irked him just a little-- he was careful yet again not to ever express his own opinion-- he loved her and let her have her own opinion. It did not hurt him, even with the Dark Lord on the rise. He did not join the Dark Lord during the First War. He had no reason to. Charity was not as outspoken back then, and did not tempt fate to harm her by speaking out. He kept his head down and he did his job, he married the woman he loved and she became pregnant with their first child. Children, it would later turn out. They were twins, and Fabien was overjoyed. Two little boys to call his own, two little boys who would know their father loved them and didn't look down upon them as a waste of space. He doted on them constantly when they were young, even though they were mischievous. When the next boy followed, he was even more overjoyed. Siblings to play with each other, a family to help one another through and never be lonely like he had been. When Moira was born, it was like the icing on the cake. It melted his heart when his daughter was born and he held her tiny little body and sung her softly to sleep. He does not show it often now, because the boys are older and he does not know how to show them affection, but he loves them dearly. They are his pride and joy. They make him proud every day of the year. Moira is a soft spot for him, because she is his precious daughter and he dotes on her constantly. He does not have favorites, and he does not love one sibling more than another, but he definitely does show his affection better for her because she is a girl and he feels like it will not make her unhappy if he does. He never knows if the boys would appreciate him being loving to them. The rise of the Dark Lord yet again put a damper on his happy life. Charity was outspoken now, making speeches almost weekly about muggle rights. She did not fear the Dark Lord, and she did not think about what it might do to the precious family Fabien had always wanted so badly. He had to do something drastic, he realized one day. He had to protect them all. He could not let them be taken from him. Though he did not want to do it-- though it tore him apart to do so-- he joined the Death Eaters. He swore loyalty he did not feel and took the Dark Mark upon his arm. He uses spells to hide it from his family. This has, of course, caused a strain on his marriage and on his family. The people he loves most are being pushed away for their own safety. He does the things the Dark Lord asks in hopes that he will spare their lives and leave them out of the destruction. He bows down on a knee and humbles himself in hopes that each time he belittles himself that it will buy his wife more time for her life, more time to be with their family. He is, of course, starting to become easily irritated. She does not understand when he argues with her about her opinion. She does not get why he does not wish for her to go about spouting her nonsense. These are dangerous times and he only wishes the family he craved so badly to be safe! He did the one thing he thought would protect them, but still she persists and his sacrifice might be for naught. KALI || TWENTY-TWO || EIGHT YEARS+ || FEMALE || A LOT! |
