They are equally as intense as they are deep, and some would even describe them as mysterious. Mysterious as they may be, they are accompanied by immense dark circles beneath. They reflect depth while concealing his true manipulative nature. »» hair color: Nearly shoulder length, his hair corresponds appropriately with his personality. His smiles are frequently mad, and backed with callousness and cruelty. His smile displaying his twisted and warped personality. His attire changes depending on the task he has at hand. When he is around others of his kind, he prefers to wear the style of old. Though his most common outfit is that of a velvety jacket, and a white button up collared shirt beneath it. Accompanied by black slacks, and boots. He doesn't fear looking like a 'freak' when a human is in his presence, and shamelessly does not change his appearance for them. He relies on his charisma to gain their trust when required, and usually this works without fail. character personality »» likes:

His life as a child is described as a difficult one. His father, from the day he was born, had in mind that his boy Eric would grow to be a strong Dark Wizard. Magnus was an abusive, alcohol-addicted man, who treated neither Isaura or Eric with one ounce of respect. He started teaching Eric the unforgivable curses, from the day he was able to hold a wand, beneath the Ministry of Magic's noses. Fortunately, Eric was not caught by the Ministry, or unfortunately depending on your standpoint. At the age of 7, his father had successfully taught him how to kill a small animal outside his house. A pygmypuff, which might be the source to Eric's protectiveness over small animals. His mother never knew, and being raised beneath Magnus, Eric never had the spine to tell her of the trespasses that his father forced upon him. In fact, for a while, he believed his fathers claim that it was 'normal' for wizard children to use destructive magics. It wasn't until his days at Hogwarts when he understood this was not in fact a fact. He was accepted to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, at the age of eleven. Hogwarts wasn't as horrible as Eric had anticipated. He was good at making friends, but very rarely did he trust any of them. Especially with the reputation Slytherins were famed for, and proud of. However, the night of the sorting ceremony, had provided Eric with true love at first sight, as cliche as it sounded. He had watched the boy from the moment he had seen them, and after he was sorted into Slytherin, his heart swelled with glee. His name turned out to be Severus Snape, and after confiding his feelings about Severus to Lucas Mulciber, Lucas reluctantly accepted Eric's persuasion to let Severus join the group. His dorm mates stayed consistent through most of his school years, and they consisted of Destin Wilkes, Lucas Mulciber, and Severus Snape. The dorm mates became close quickly, even Destin seemed to fit in from time to time, and their study habits often grew to include each other. Eric had a decent hand with Transfiguration, which he happily shared with the others in the group, spending extra time to make sure Severus was able to perform the spells that he struggled with. Lucas was a hero when it came to History of Magic, which was by far the most hellacious thing ever admitted into Hogwarts. In Eric's opinion it should have been denied enrollment at all. Eric was the people person of the group, and often was viewed as the lesser threat of the group, making him the one people tended to approach. This gift helped Eric to become good friends with a few of the upper-years. Such as Lucius Malfoy, Rodolphus Lestrange, and Evan Rosier. This is only noted because when people like Sirius started bullying Severus, Eric had no problem seeking reinforcement for (Behind-Severus's-Back Operation: Retaliations). Of course Eric often included Severus in these sprees, but he was very highly protective of Severus and wanted him out of harms way. Two years into their school years, Eric realized the older students would have close to little effect on the Marauders who didn't seem to care when their efforts were sabotaged or avenged. It was clear that they had waged war on Slytherin house, at least in Avery's eyes. This became personal when they seemed to bully Severus the most, due to his liking of that Gryffindor girl who didn't seem to return ANY of his feelings. In their third year, Severus had confided in Eric about Sirius Black's unintentional attack to kill Severus. Adding insult to injury, Sev had been spared by James Potter, the bane of Sev's existence. Eric, so upset, rarely allowed Severus to depart from the common room without a large group of Slytherin's after that. Eric also saw it fit to confront Sirius alone, possibly the one time he did anything brave without being put up to it, or with reinforcements. The group that served as Severus's bodyguards frequently included: Bellatrix Black, who was very passionate about defending fellow Slytherins, a trait that Eric looked up to. The Slytherin prefects, and of course Eric, Lucas, Rodolpus, Evan, and Destin. However, much to Eric's horror, in fourth year he became weak. While Severus was happy to be the new protector of the group, Eric felt helpless and inadequate. Bellatrix had been the bane of his existence in fourth year, she had always been both intimidating and powerful, and she had a sadistic side that rivaled his own. She seemed to, at times, take offense to Eric's quieter nature, and bully him on occasion. Eric was unable to stand up to her, and Severus wouldn't have it. Severus, being the brilliant mind that he was, had devised a clever curse to which he taught Eric. Severus, being the bleeding heart that he was, had only meant for the spell to be used once, however Eric became overzealous and nearly killed her. St. Mungos cured Bellatrix, and she remained unscarred, however, she likely has never forgiven Eric, though from time to time Eric regrets dishing it out as he had. In apologizing, Severus informed Eric that he had taught Bellatrix the spell, though she wouldn't be permitted to use it on him. In their fifth year, Mulciber proved himself to be the darkest of the trio when he attempted to use Dark Magic upon Mary MacDonald in their fifth year. A mystery that never escaped Eric, however, was how Snape managed to be their friend when he seemed unamused by Mulciber and Avery's twisted/sadistic/dark/morbid sense of humor. Not alone in his bemusement: Severus had begun to spend time with Lily Evans, who was Snape's friend at the time, and she also tried to split up the trio because of Avery's humor being so morbid. He always wanted to introduce her properly to Mulciber after that. Fifth year was just as eventful as the rest as the older students had graduated: Lucius, Evan, Rodolphus & Bellatrix. The odds were turned, not in their favor, as there were now three Slytherin boys against the Gryffindor quartet. Severus had snuck off to be alone, again, and had been assaulted by the Marauders, and destroying his bind to Lily. While Eric had been jealous of her, he hated to see it end, destroying Severus in the process. Eric did what he could to help Severus back on his feet, as he was one of the rare ones who knew everything regarding Severus's feelings, as he had always been in tune with Severus, and when he wasn't Severus kept him informed. At the age of 17 he enlisted to become a Death Eater, alongside Severus, and Lucas. He fought in several battles alongside the other Death Eaters, especially during the First Wizarding War. Like the majority of the Death Eaters, he failed to seek out the Dark Lord after his downfall. This was forgiven the Dark Lords return. He participated in the First Wizarding War, and afterward he was taken into custody by the Ministry of Magic Officials who had proven too tricky to dodge, and because of them: Avery stood trial to see if he was a Death Eater or not. Avery, however, was one of the more manipulative Death Eaters, and he weaseled his way out of trouble. He pleaded that he was afflicted by the Imperius Curse. Because of his fast thinking: He was not sent to Azkaban. However, he did not go seeking out his lord after his downfall either. Avery also assisted in the Quidditch World Cup riot, approximately one year before Lord Voldemort returned. When Severus turned out to be a spy, Avery felt abandoned. Abandoned and destroyed beyond words. To cope with the absence of his best friend, the love of his life, and his protector: His subconscious created an alternate personality who becomes present only when there is a threat or a sign of danger. This personality coming forth is Avery's biggest obstacle. He can't control it, and often loses track of events and time, unfortunately he no longer cares to tame it. Though, he has told Severus, when it comes, people die or get hurt. It is safe to assume this split side is very dangerous, and unpredictable. This personality is responsible for Avery killing both of his parents. Avery, on the other hand, was no fool. When the Dark Lord turned out to be capable of returning: He was the first Death Eater to grovel at the Lord's feet. He declared the reason behind not seeking out his master was because he believed him to be "finished". He then pleaded with the Dark Lord to forgive the Death Eaters (including himself) for disappointing him so tremendously. He was punished severely at the hand of the Dark Lord beneath the Cruciatus Curse, as well as ordered an additional 13 years of service to repay the debt that they had cost him, due to their incredible lack of belief. Then the Dark Lord was seeking a prophecy, that he claimed was made about himself and Harry Potter. A prophecy that was stored in the Department of Mysteries, within the Ministry of Magic. Avery devised a plan that didn't work to obtain the prophecy: Allowing an Unspeakable to attempt to retrieve it while under the Imperius Curse... If it didn't work why did he give it to the Dark Lord? Simple. Love. His heart is strained and he feels there is no more to live for, giving up everything he had left, he was hoping to meet his bitter end. Not following this event by far: Avery was reunited with Snape, his weaknesses exposed, and his feelings as well. What will become of this? rp sample »» role play sample: Eric shifted uncomfortably in his seat, meeting unfamiliar faces always stirred a bit of a panic within him. Perhaps this stemmed from the fact that most of the people who wished to converse with him were the Dark Lords servants, or maybe it was the truth that most turned their backs on him when he needed them most. While he welcomed new faces with a certain optimism that only Eric could mask, he always questioned their true intentions. While Alice was a new colleague, many things about her sparked his curiosity: Her. Her culture. Her background. Her loyalties. Her reasons for being at Hogwarts. Among several other things that were better left alone. Containing his mountains of questions, Eric eyed the woman as she licked her lips and leaned back, in a manner that appeared less defensive. Following suit, Eric's shoulders relaxed into a friendly manner, and he was suddenly reminded of a story his mother used to tell him: If one smiles into the lake, the stranger in the water would smile back. Reminding himself to let down his guard, his paranoia managed to subside. To the statement that one would start at the beginning, he returned the chuckle in kind. Leaning forward, he lay his cheek in his hand and grinned. “The beginning, hn?” Where exactly was the beginning? ”What was childhood like where you're from? Were your parents magical?” The question seemed the obvious, as it was always the first question that was posed to him by other first years back in his school days. Speaking of school days it had been confirmed that she attended Durmstrang, the school that had always sparked a certain curiosity among several Hogwarts students, including himself, from his age. She had actually been there, so perhaps now would be a good time together answers to: ”How old were you when you were accepted at Durmstrang? Was it much different than us here at Hogwarts? Since you're faculty here I'll go out on a limb and assume that you understand the logistics of how things work. I am really curious about your school years as well.” He went on to explain, pausing only to leave both cider and tea in the center of the table. ”Did you have anything like the sorting ceremony there? Or houses even?” There were a million questions spurring forth. So many in fact, that it took a great deal of effort for Eric to bite back more of them, in order to allow some form of answer, even if it was 'none of your business'. Leaning forward instinctively, Eric took her hand in a soothing manner. ”How awful! A muggle? Really? I could never live without my wand. The International Statue of Secrecy is too much of a sacrifice for me to even consider the idea.” He frowned and contemplated what it would mean to give up life as they knew it in the name of someone who did not share their gifts for magic. ”I suppose you must have cared a great deal to make such a brave effort.” Releasing his hold, he tried to understand the very simple truth that had been revealed to him. ”You went here for three years, probably after my time? I dare say you look a bit younger, what house were you?” He never was able to comprehend the process of exchange-programs, or relocating schools halfway through ones educational career. The problem obviously lay in the fact that different Headmasters, different schools for that matter, offered different curriculum. Each school had its own focus, or so it would seem. While some fancied the Dark Arts, others preferred Defensive Magics, and so forth and so on. The variety in focal points between magical schools, and establishments, was so diverse it was difficult to imagine switching schools halfway through. ”You'll have to forgive my interrogation, but I would think the change of environment would have proven a bit of a challenge to a young witch such as yourself, am I right?” Perhaps she was more than met the eye, and was unlike Eric in the light of being able to adapt and adjust to her surroundings quickly. Some individuals made the change look so simple that they could pass as chameleons of a human nature. Adapting was never something that came naturally to Eric, and something that he envied in those who had it. ”I'd hope that Hogwarts pays its faculty better than the bookstores do... Bookstores are a good starting job, but unless you own the establishment, I'm not sure there's much future in it... Is there?” With no experience outside of Hogwarts, or the Death Eaters, Eric was hardly one to talk, but some truths were best left unspoken. Truths such as: I have limited work experience, because I took pride in bringing pain to others, in Voldemorts' name. Shuddering he paled, the very thought of Voldemort chilling him to the bone. What would become of him when the Dark Lord found out he wasn't dead? Surely he would send someone to finish the job, no deed against him went unpunished, that was a lesson Eric had learned first hand. ”There's a last time for everything too.” He answered, trying to force the haunting flashbacks from the passing thoughts that flickered before him. The memories of the night he nearly lost his life not too long ago. ”I'm sure I'll find that book somewhere. It was probably checked out by a student who forgot they had possession or something, it's no real target of mine, just an excuse to socialize.” Biting his tongue at the mention of the Dark Arts, not daring to speak the words he'd seen enough to last a thousand lifetimes he nodded casually. ”The Dark Arts is a fascinating subject if I say so myself. It's unpredictable.” He half smiled at the apology and the Mr Avery and shook his head chuckling slightly. ”If you prefer formalities, they will be returned in kind, Miss Dulcedo.” He teased SPIRIT || 22 || EXPERIENCE || TRANNY || NOPE |
