ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:
Did it make her off if she felt herself wanting to go to the library during her spare time? Gabrielle, given just an hour or so of time to herself, couldn’t help the itching feeling she had to go to the library and read up on a few things before she had to go back to former duties. It seemed her free time was dwindling these days, and she figured she better snatch up the opportunity while she had the chance. Sneaking off before any of her friends could catch her and make her sit and gossip about nonsense things, she gracefully made her way towards the library, not seeing many signs of life near the large and beloved room. Most students found the library dreadful. Gabrielle loved it more than anything in the world.
Crossing the open space towards the librarian, Gabrielle stopped and whispered a few friendly words. She and the librarian had been on good terms since Gabi’s first year at Hogwarts. The librarians tend to favor and know those that love the library as much as them. Giving a hearty wave and smile, Gabrielle made her way through some of the stacks, taking her time. When she came to the library to find a book for her own pleasure reading, it was always a task. There were simply too many choices. She usually ended up leaving the library with five or six books, entirely too many for her to hope to read in the time allotted. Of course, she always thought that. But, she always finished them all—thanks to some late nights spent reading by the fireplace instead of going to bed.
Gabrielle’s one true love was reading and books. She adored any type of book—fiction, nonfiction, long, short, old, new. There wasn’t a single quality about a book that turned her off. Everything about them was magnificent. So, when she entered the library, she felt she was in heaven. She made her way through the stacks slowly, her fingers trailing over the spines of the books. She hadn’t even begun looking yet. She was merely enjoying the quiet, serene atmosphere before she began the hard task of settling on a book or two, which she knew in the back of her mind would turn into multiple books.
Turning a corner, Gabrielle was surprised to see another student there. It was a girl she recognized, though had never spoken to. She was a year younger, and a Hufflepuff. As Head Girl, it was Gabrielle’s duty to know almost all the students in the school. Not necessarily by name, but their year and their house, at least remotely, so she was able to perform her duties to the best of her ability. She wasn’t sure of the girl’s name, but she was knew that she was an exceptional student, and a prefect. She was most likely winning for the Head Girl position next year after Gabrielle was gone. Gabrielle prided herself on that position. She had worked exceptionally hard. She wanted to become a healer after she graduated, and she knew she needed perfect marks. But also, Gabrielle refused to let herself fail. She was simply that type of girl. And from the looks of it, this sixth year was as well.
Her outgoing spirit led her to approach the girl, a friendly and inviting smile on her lips. She had to make sure she kept her voice down. That was the cardinal rule of the library. But, she knew that librarian wouldn’t make a fuss over Gabrielle talking to someone, she was practically the golden child to them. Stopping a few feet from the girl, she continued to smile. "Hi there. I’m Gabrielle Dubois. Do you need any help? " She figured the girl probably didn’t, she was very bright for her year. But, it didn’t hurt to ask. And that was why she was the Head Girl.
