Severus Snape
And how has the war changed you this time, Severus?
Severus Snape is a man of many titles. Slytherin Head of House. Potions Master. Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher. And perhaps most prominently - traitor.
But to whose side is he betraying?
Severus has proven himself devoutly loyal to the Dark Lord on several occasions during the course of the Second Wizarding War. Most notably, is perhaps the one least spoken of, the secret unknown. Proving ones loyalty to the Dark Lord is not an easy task by any means and to do so, Severus has undergone enormous physical suffering and mental battery to appease the one upon whom he spies. Albus Dumbledore believes that Severus is rarely tortured and that when he is, the effects are minimal enough to make the risk worthwhile to the cause.
What Albus Dumbledore doesn't realize, is how much of a falsehood this truly is. One Hermione Granger, however, is completely well aware of how close to death the Dark Lord has driven Severus on just one occasion, and she has been bound to secrecy that she keeps with a surprising loyalty. What Severus doesn't know, is that she is now keeping a close watch on her Professor and reporting to one of his colleagues in an effort to keep him safe.
All of this is perhaps owed to the fact that since the beginning of term, Severus has been carefully training Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood to defend themselves both magically and mentally - and to do this, he has been showing them the side of himself generally reserved for his Slytherins.
Having rescued Harry (and Hermione, with the aid of Lucas Mulciber) during the First Battle of Hogsmeade, Severus has been finding his relationships shifting somewhat disconcertingly amongst the Order crowd. Yet, having refused to allow his old friend Lucius to be sent to Azkaban a second time with Draco and Narcissa in such dire need of him, Severus is also finding his relationships with the Death Eaters shifting in the wake of Lucas' deflection and Eric's violent death.
Knowing as he does what is in store for all of them with Albus' failing health, Severus finds himself struggling more and more each day with what he has been tasked to do, and what he is being forced to accept.

Friends
Severus does not make friends easily, both because he is far too guarded and because he frequently pushes people away to keep them from getting close. Those who are among those he considers his friends have either been so since his childhood, or have worked hard to earn their place with him. Once Severus lets someone in past his defenses, they never leave - no matter how badly they hurt him, he will always love and shield them. Which is all the more reason why it is so hard to make it through.
Severus - for all his faults and all the evidence one may feel is present to the contrary - is ferociously protective of Hogwarts students - particularly his Slytherins. While he prefers to leave the other houses to their respective Heads, Severus notes a great deal more than he lets on when he feels the need to pay attention. He is more welcoming to Ravenclaws than one might expect, and if ever there was a Hufflepuff daring enough to deal with him on their own, he'd give them a modicum of respect for sheer audacity alone. Gryffindors will always be a biased spot for Severus, though there are now some he is coming to see in a different light - not that he'll ever be talkative about it.
I welcome any and all plots from Order members and Death Eaters alike who feel they can be counted in this area for whatever reason. Students are also more than welcome to approach for plotting. Simply note that the depth of what Severus may or may not feel for the character in question will always vary.

Enemies
Severus has never been the sort to abide by those who hurt those he loves. While he is more than willing to accept abuse toward himself and perhaps even forgive it over time, those who ever once attack the ones he cares about will be forever despised; though there are some who may, perhaps, have chances at redemption with him, it is a rare and hard-won feat indeed.
Severus has many enemies, though all of which tend to be dealt with through thinly veiled aggression in words as opposed to openly violent actions. Even in battle, Severus tends to work from the shadows. The way of a spy, you understand. He is of course open to any sort of snarky, double-edged thread you may have in mind.

Lovers
Due to the fact the one and only woman Severus loves is dead, chances for romance are slim to none. That is not to say I am not open to someone trying to win Severus' heart, however! Shockingly enough, I actually am okay with someone trying, but there are reasons and guidelines to why I feel its okay and under what circumstances I might consider it.
First and foremost, as romantic as it is Severus lives his entire life devoted to Lily, it is also unbearably tragic. Severus suffers so immensely in the books that it kills me in many ways. As such, this is part of the reason I am okay with the thought of him finding someone for himself.
Secondly, I don't care how romantic it is, it is unhealthy to be so obsessed with someone, whether they are dead or alive. I think it would be good for Severus to have someone he can focus his devotion on who can actually return it. That said, no matter who he gets with or how or why, Severus Snape will always love Lily Potter.
This is too much a part of him to take away, and anyone seeking to win Severus' heart is going to have to deal with the fact that Lily is someone he loves and always will love, that he has sworn a promise to protect her son that he will never break and that getting him to forgive himself enough to look at someone else is going to take a lot of work, and a lot of that work will be hard.
Lastly, I do play Severus as a bisexual. There are reasons for this as well - mainly due to the fact I've played him that way since the third book was released and, for sake of brevity, we shall keep it at that. When all is said and done, I am not opposed to romantic plotlines for Severus from women or from men, and if you are interested in trying this, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it. Just note that I will be very picky about it.
