OVERALL PERSONALITY:Lucius is a rather vain, arrogant bigot. He's rich and Pureblood and proud of those two things. He looks down on those poorer than he and outright despises those that aren't Purebloods. He has a nasty temper and can be a bit violent, but never towards his wife and son. If there is one person that Lucius is always unconditionally kind and loving towards, it is his wife. He adores Narcissa and would literally do anything for her, including kill and die. Towards everyone else, as long as you aren't a non-Pureblood, he is a bit icy but generally polite.
He has no problem using his wealth and what used to be his influence to further himself and his family but also is not against using violence to achieve the same ends. He knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to gain it, and expects that he will get it and deserves it. He can be insulting, abrasive, and generally an ass to most people. A lot of these things though can be tempered slightly by Narcissa's presence but usually not by much. He does hold grudges and lets his revenge simmer for quite some time. Revenge is after all a dish best served cold.

OVERALL HISTORY:Lucius' childhood was characterized by having a cold, distant father who left Lucius' upbringing to his wife, whom spoiled him rotten. The one thing that Abraxas imparted on his son that lasted through his life was blood superiority. Lucius' magic showed at a fairly early age with him levitating his toys off of shelves to play with. So it was little surprise to anyone when he received his letter to Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday.
After shopping for school supplies, Lucius headed off to Hogwarts. In the Sorting Ceremony, he was placed into Slytherin, much like most of his family on both sides had been. At Hogwarts, he joined the Quidditch team, becoming Seeker and eventually Captain. He also became a Prefect his fifth year and Head Boy his Seventh. He was also part of Horace Slughorn's Slug Club, an exclusive club for those the Potions professor thought were talented at Potions, from influential and rich families, and had the most potential to become successful and famous.
But while at Hogwarts, a much more important thing happened to Lucius: he met Narcissa Black. He had known her as a child from Pureblood get-togethers and hadn’t really paid much attention to her, even though they were the same age. But at Hogwarts, he noticed that she was very pretty and he wanted her. At first, his attraction to her was purely physical/sexual but he eventually actually cared for her and came to love her deeply. By the time they graduated, they were dating. Not long after that they became engaged and married. Their only son, Draco, was born in 1980.
During this time, Lucius became heavily involved with the Dark Lord and after he graduated, quickly became one of His most trusted lieutenants. But with the defeat of the Dark Lord and the prospect of being put in Azkaban, he claimed that he had been under the Imperious curse. That and money may have been involved. He and Narcissa were then able to raise their son in relative peace, sending Draco off to Hogwarts in 1991. Also during this time, he got onto the Board of Governors for Hogwarts and actively tried to remove Dumbledore from his post as Headmaster. He also became influential at the Ministry of Magic, making friends with then Minister Cornelius Fudge.
But Lucius' world would come crashing down in 1994 when he was at the Quidditch World Cup. He had been torturing some Muggles when the Dark Mark rose in the sky, summoning the Dark Lord. Lucius ran but soon pledge himself again to the Dark Lord. Lucius led the Battle of the Department of Mysterious, fully revealing himself as a Death Eater and getting put into Azkaban when he failed to gain the prophecy. He broke out a few months later, only to find his son was made a Death Eater and his home being used as the headquarters for the Dark Lord and his followers. And the Dark Lord seemed intent on punishing him and torturing him at every opportunity.
He then was present at both attacks on Hogsmeade but was captured during the second, only managing to escape because of Severus Snape. Lucius is currently in disgrace with the Death Eaters and is a bit of a fugitive, yet somehow has been kept as on the Board of Governors at Hogwarts and his seat on the Wizengamot, though he is unsure how long he will be able to keep those. And he is willing to do anything to get back on the Dark Lord's good side.
