so this here is astoria's father, richard aloysius greengrass. he's forty-six and looking rather good for his age. his face claim is rob lowe. he's got two daughters as his heirs, daphne and astoria and as head of the greengrass family he owns the family manor in donegal, ireland and is ceo of the terrortours travel agency which helps buffer the family's enormous wealth. yes, this means he and his daughters are going to have irish accents.
so a little about mr. greengrass: he loves his daughters though he is very careful about showing it and prefers his youngest to his oldest. that isn't to say that he'd be able to make a choice between them in a life-or-death situation, just that he finds astoria reminds him a lot of his wife when she was younger and prefers her company to daphne's. he is a business man before all else and is always looking to advance his family's position, which is why he's taken up with the death eaters. during the first war, he kept out of it because if nothing else, richard is a very careful man who likes to watch and listen and learn before making a move, but this time he has chosen a side to protect his daughter's heritage. he feels that mingling the bloodlines of purebloods and muggleborns or halfbloods will eventually lead to the destruction of magic and, of course, his family name. he took the mark not to purge other impure families from the wizarding world, but in the hopes that he can help undermine the ministry and live to see the passing of laws that bar anyone but purebloods from being considered the wizarding community.
he has been very careful to keep his daughters out of the war and away from the influences of other death eaters as best he can because he feels most of them are to idealistic and radical and they would put his beloved children in harm's way. so far he has succeeded with astoria, though daphne seems to have taken up with the junior members hidden at hogwarts.
he is not particularly fond of his wife anymore, though he stays with her because of the scandal it might cause if he divorced her. at one time he loved her more than anything, but their romance withered and died when he refused to choose a side in the first war and her brothers died in the service of voldemort. he is currently very angry at her for managing to sway daphne into the service of the dark lord and putting her into danger for whatever actions the girl might take. he is currently intercepting any letters his wife may send to his daughters as punishment.

and now we move onto astoria's mother. her face claim is tricia helfer and she is forty-three years old. her name is up to you, but in this plotter i'm going to call her lucille greengrass (nee fawley). so lucille here went to school with her current husband, they were sweethearts and got married pretty quickly out of hogwarts and she was absolutely dazzled by the old wealth and the huge house in which she was taken to live. she was a lot like astoria, kind of ditzy and somewhat bad at school but she was kind and funny and she knew how to make the serious and always-frowning richard laugh. because her family, the fawleys, are relatively new wealth in the pureblood circles, she was taught by her family that being pureblood was really very important and that she was better than muggleborns and halfbloods. when voldemort came along, he induced a great fear into the fawleys that eventually the purebloods would be overrun and marrying muggles and halfbloods and that they needed to protect their blood status for the future generations and for the future of magic and life as they knew it. her two brothers took the mark and became death eaters, fighting and ultimately dying for this cause. if lucille hadn't been dealing with two very young daughters at the time, she would have joined them.
the death of her brothers turned the very happy and smiling lucille into a bitter woman who could not forgive her husband for staying out of the war, even though it protected her and her two children and made sure they could provide for their every want. her grief was great enough that she convinced herself that if only richard had joined, her brothers might have survived to fight again in this new war.
suffice to say, lucille is very supportive of the death eater's cause and she has tried her very hardest to make sure her girls know that they are purebloods and from a very great family, better than most who go to hogwarts and make a mockery of the great halls. these lessons took root in daphne's head while richard managed to keep astoria from choosing sides. it infuriates her to no end to think that her youngest daughter is oblivious to what's going on but she is very proud of daphne for doing what she thinks is the right thing.

so this is the eldest greengrass and heir to the family's company and mansion in ireland. she's a junior death eater and a bit of a bully. by bit of a bully i'm exaggerating. she has taken her mother's lessons on blood purity to heart and picks on those she considers below her. she's usually seen spending a lot of time with her best friend, pansy parkinson, and when with her she can be convinced to bully even her younger sister. she's jealous of the fact that her father prefers astoria to herself and likes to rub it in that their mother has the opposite preference. it also annoys her that everyone in the greengrass family has chosen an affiliation other than her sister and she sees her as a spoiled and airheaded girl who doesn't have strong feelings towards or against anything. astoria, in other words, is daphne's rival in everything even if she outwardly acts as though her younger sister has nothing on her.
i do like to think that daphne cares about her younger sister in her own way, even if she's particularly bad about showing it. i think she could possibly have inherited their father's cold demeanor and she doesn't show affection very easily. she will have grown up hearing stories of her uncles' bravery in the first war from her mother and she will most likely look at her father as a coward for standing back and waiting to make his move. that being said, she still craves his affection and his approval. other than that, her personality is completely up to you.
