This is the moving mail post of Rayna Augusta Sabine Mulciber, Durmstrang graduate, magizoologist, champion duelist, and one of the best damn huntsmen you'll ever meet. Did you bring your dragon head to Hogsmeade? Is it hanging up in a small hut? As hilarious as that mental image is, considering how frequently these houses are burned its probably best if its still in Bulgaria. Still. Funny mental picture.

In all seriousness Rayna, how were your travels? You certainly took your time getting here so I presume you had some hunts along the way? Do tell. I must live vicariously through your tales now that I'm living as a Hogwarts Professor.

No, in fact I did not bring the head, cousin. Father likes to use it to terrify his guests into acting properly. That and the threat of calling me home usually suffices to keep them good and scared. I did bring a picture father took of me when I dragged it into the hall if you would like that. It's a fairly terrifying picture.

If you must know, I killed at least two vampires and found myself side tracked by the trail of a very clumsy death eater. Suffice to say he won't be troubling anyone ever again. The oaf was stalking a werewolf for some reason. Oh, and I killed that, too.

I hope you're a professor of something useful, such as slaying dragons or the different and wonderful uses of silver. Otherwise I'm going to be quite ashamed of you.

That picture sounds like something I would love to have in my office if only for something entertaining to look at when pouring over endless stacks of repetitive essays.

Oh! Oh! You killed a Death Eater? How positively brilliant. Did you cut off its Dark Mark? I think that should be the new thing. We keep all manners of trophies - we could create a Dark mark collection. The person with the most by the time Voldemort croaks it gets treated to dinner by the lesser achiever. A challenge Rayna, shall we? We'll have to meet to discuss some finer points but it does sound fun doesn't it? Just like the old days when we collected vampire teeth.

Oh I do wish that slaying dragons was on the curriculum, but alas, it is not. I teach Transfiguration for the fourth through seventh year students. Rather dab hand at it, I must admit. Oh, but I have been teaching a lad aerial combat. And I've been working on The Spider's combat techniques. So not a total loss I suppose.

If you ask really nicely and politely, mayhaps I can find a copy of it to send to you. You can display it prominently so your students see it while you sit behind your desk and glare at them.

I sincerely thought about skinning it, Lucas, though I'm afraid that didn't happen. I had to cross the Bulgarian border, you see, and they're very picky about things such as hunks of human flesh with dark marks on them. Now that I'm in the UK, however, I might have to take you up on that contest but I expect a very nice and rich dinner for my trouble. I made those teeth into a necklace, by the by. Would you like that too?

Aerial combat brings me back a few years. Good thing we've got stock in the corporation that puts out bludgers, otherwise I might have bankrupted my family with the amount I bought to fly around and try to ram us off brooms. I suppose you're doing the same to this student? Otherwise it's not a worthwhile endeavor at all and I deem it a total loss.

Maybe I should set a dragon loose on the castle? The best way to learn, I always say, is through situational combat and survival.

I can see we are in the same profession. That instantly caught my attention and it's nice know that some people still take interest in that area. I'm going to take it that you and Lucas are related? I don't believe we have ever met.

Alucio. Quick question though. Most amazing creature you have seen during your time as a Magizoologist?

As I am from Bulgaria and report to Bulgarian authorities, I think this would most likely explain why we have never met. Lucas is one of my closest cousins and from that question I'm going to assume that you are somewhat friendly with him.

As to your last question, I'm not certain I would describe it as amazing, it was more under the category of grotesque, and abomination, or horrible. While tracking a wounded dragon that Aztecs once referred to as Quetzalcoatl though one of the tropical forests in Brazil, I stumbled across what you could call the nest of a young Basilisk. I killed it of course, and hopefully I did so before it found a mate, though it was very small and could not have been more than a year old.

Which of course, means its parents are out there somewhere. Fair warning, I suppose. It's not as though they go out of their way to attack humans unless someone with the ability to speak parseltongue happens upon them.

Never been to Brazil myself, however that sounds like you had an interesting time none the less. Ah, a young one huh? You are very lucky it wasn't an adult but I'm sure you know that anyway.

I have yet to meet anyone who can speak Parseltounge and somehow doubt I ever will. Ouch, well let's hope the parents never find you hmm? And yes, I am on rather friendly terms with Lucas.

Me and Lucas go back to our schooldays and the man is a very close friend. Bulgarian? That would explain that. Good to meet you anyway. We should go out for a friendly drink sometime and talk about what other creatures we have come across in our time.

The most interesting thing I have come across so far is an Augurey. Never again, is all I'm going too say.
