Violent Protest! [Thread One]

The Ministry of Magic's refusal to act against the werewolves that attacked Hogsmeade has caused a huge stir in the community, fanned by pureblood loyalists and intolerant witches and wizards keen on causing chaos. There has been considerable pressure on the Ministry to legalize werewolf hunting in order to preemptively avoid another strike like the one on Hogsmeade. The Ministry has been reluctant to do so, and on FEBRUARY 25th, 1997 the protesters decided to bring their concerns directly to the Ministry.

While Hogwarts hosts its annual N.E.W.T. ball, the Ministry is in chaos! Seventy two witches and wizards from outlaying communities have swarmed the Atrium and are demanding immediate action! Things have gotten rowdy fast. Nobody knows who started the spellcasting, but pandemonium has struck! 

Objective: In this thread, two applicable characters will need to subdue ten NPC protesters! Feel free to godmode up to three each; note that Mini Event will post after a certain time to liven up the challenge!

Really, it was only a matter of time before it all went to hell in a hand basket. And they should have seen this one coming. The public had been in an uproar ever since the second attack on Hogsmeade with the Werewolves. Brooke had only seen the damage in passing; having only been sent to the Wizarding Village during the intital attack to try and get as many villagers to safety. She had nearly had a heart attack when she had seen children running around attempting to help. She had immediately thought of her young niece, who was to start Hogwarts next year. Merlin she hoped the war was over by then. Wishful thinking on her part. She had heard of the complaints being passed through the ministry. The public wanted action taken against the werewolves. And whle Brooke could understand their fear, she - personally - could see what would be gained from punishing those who had no control over their actions. And while most would say that's why the hunting law should be past - dangerous, uncontrollable creatures that they were should be eradicated - that was saying it was their fault. And really, if anyone should be punished, it should be the Death Eaters that had enabled the massacre. She figured she should have taken the signs for what they were today. Getting up late, nothing being in it's usual place. Oh, she should have just called in sick! Gone out drinking instead or some other daft, work defying stunt that she could think of. But no, she had to be responsible. She had to come to work. And it was arriving in the Atrium that she saw the mass of people; voices so loud she could barely make out what any of them were saying. It wasn't until she was closer that the words seemed to be making since. They wanted action done. Sighing, she pulled her wand out of her pocket and tapped her bag; sending it ahead to the office. Well, she was here. She might as well try and find some semblance of calm. But first thing first... She started around the outer perimeter and began to separate those who were in the protesting group, and those that had started to gawk; signaling security to help get the gawkers out. Once that had been finished, she turned back to the mass of people. Well, might as well start somewhere. She thought to herself. She moved to a Young woman who appeared she'd rather be somewhere else, but Brooke could see her shooting glances at a man next to her; who was screaming loudly in an attempt to be heard. "Ma'am. Ma'am. Please, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Why don't you come over here with me, yeah? We can have some tea. Or maybe some coffee." She could see the woman wanted to take her up on her offer, but she kept glancing at the gentleman beside her; who had yet to notice Brooke. Brooke offered her her hand and began to gently pull her away from the group. And just in time too! She hadn't heard the spell being cast, nor did she see where it had come from. But instincts honed from years of chasing dangerous criminals had allowed her to quickly pull the girl with her and down to the ground. Pushing the now frightened woman aside, she quickly pointed her wand at another man who was on the verge of pulling out his wand. To do what, Brooke wasn't sure. But she wasn't going to find out. She quickly immobilized him with a wordless charm, spinning around to disarm a lady who had turned her wand upon her. Once disarmed, a quick glare was enough to send the woman off with her tail between her legs.
