Nancy Rose Greengrass
Basics
FULL NAME:
Personality
LIKES:
- Parties: What kind of shallow, vain girl would she be if she didn't like parties? Parties are wonderful, especially if half of the eyes are on her. She loves the wild experience of people handing her drinks, wanting to dance with her, or get in her pants. There's just a thrill there that she loves and will do anything for.
- Magic: She loves showing off her skill and making sure everyone knows she's a pretty skilled witch. If you don't know, she will show you and will make sure that you do. She just loves being in the spotlight and loves everyone knowing her name and the like.
- Risks/Thrills: The thrill her. Just the adrenaline flowing through her body and coursing through her veins. Not anything life threatening, but she loves the panic coursing through her and her heart beating way to fast. It just scares and interests her at the same time.
- Her Kitty: Bandit is the best thing to ever happen to her. She loves him with all her heart, and she loves her dad for getting her the best thing that she's ever had, a beautiful kitty.
- Her Father: She loves him. Despite her horrible tendencies to treat him horribly and lie to him and basically manipulate him, she loves her father. He took care of her when she was sick and so on and so forth. And being his only child, her father loves her too, and spoils her. She's not complaining about the spoiling, and she knows how much her father really cares about her.
DISLIKES:
- Wild animals: Raccoons, Possums and the like scare her. Not like a deathly scare, but they frightening her. Once Bandit got lost, and she had to find him, and she almost got attacked by a raccoon . It was a frightening experience, and she wrote off all wild animals off her list of cute and cuddly things.
- Loud and Needy Children: Children are really really loud. She hates having to take care of any child, especially if they cry. Being around children just scares her because children cry and scream and spit up everywhere and its just horrible.
- Scratchy Sweaters: Sweaters that are itchy horrify her. She hates the feeling of the prickly, scratchy, material. It disgusts her and scares her at the same time. Those ugly Christmas sweaters, or the disgusting ones you can find at the flea market. They just.... ugh.
- Horrible Singing: See, she can't sing, nor will she try, but others... gosh. She hates it when someone with absolutely zero talent tries to claim that they are the best, they break out into song then... it sounds like her cat is dying. She hates that sound. She will cover her ears, and beg you to stop.
- Hard Labor/Work: That is not her forte. You will never find her lifting heavy things. Yes the occasional dusting and folding clothes, but she'll complain. The whole time. Work is not what she does. She will earn her keep, and clean her mess, but she will not go out of her way and help you lift that heavy box with your bed set in it.
STRENGNTHS:
- Lying: It comes naturally to her. No she won't lie like a water faucet, but if it comes down to it, she's in between a rock and a hard place, she will lie her way out of it. As much as she possible can. Its best not to pressure her either. When she's pressured, she runs like a faucet. Then she'll contradict herself and get flustered and it'll be bad. Very bad.
- Overconfidence: She knows she can do it, so you should know to. If you don't she won't tell you, she'll show you. So then you will know. She is very confident, so don't tell her that can't, she can, and she will. She'll make sure she will.
- Manipulation: She doesn't like the term manipulation, but it is what it is. She'll probably have a lot of enemies once they find out she may or ma not have been using them, but she know who she has to use and who not to. She has one group of friends who will not ever be used to get what she wants. Ever.
WEAKNESS:
- Vanity: She's really caught up in her appearance, so don't ever tell her she isn't pretty. She hates hearing that and she'll do anything to change your mind. It usually gets her in a lot of trouble or in a big mess. She will try her hardest to stay pretty to everyone, and she likes it that like that.
- Deceitfulness: Some of her lies make her feel really guilty, especially when its to her father. She finds herself getting nervous and scared and then will eventually apologize and run away. She won't give you any reason why she's apologizing, as long as her conscious is cleared she's fine.
- Her Hair: She is very self-conscious about her hair. She thinks everyone knows that she's having a bad hair day, and doesn't take people telling her what she should do with her hair lightly.
GOALS:
- Being Known: She wants people to know her name and to know her face. She desires for everyone to have a (good) opinion on her, and that they can look at her and say something about the wonderful things she's done, or is going to do. She wants to be recognizable and that is what she really wants to have.
- True Love: She wants to find that one who can make her heart swoon, and will stay with her forever. She has yet to find this man, but she knows that once she does, they will get married, have children and grow old together and will be together forever. And she loves the idea of this.
History
BIRTHPLACE:
This phase lasted about a year until she decided that her father didn’t really deserve that. So she stopped complaining, but she still asked for stuff. Her father didn’t mind, and spoiled her so she wouldn’t act out anymore. This proved to work until she was 13. Then she became just what her mother said she was, a little devil. She stayed out, had fun, caused havoc at Hogwarts with her friends, and caused problems. Her father blamed it on how she lacked a mother, but Nancy knew otherwise.
During this, she picked up her bad habit of lying. She lied her way out of problems with her teachers and friends, but not her father. She also started getting many compliments on her beauty, which she loved. She got many at the parties that her father would host, and loved them. She loved being the beautiful princess that she was told she was. She became vain with all the compliments, and would only have the best of the best, especially around her father and his peers.
Being from the family she is, she had to attend many parties. She was told many compliments, and became slightly snobbish, often waving many people away because "they weren't worth her time". Many men have asked for her hand in marriage, which she declined, only because she knew she could. When her father announced that he would be picking out her suitor, she was outraged. But it was expected. Her and her father were on bad terms during her 5th year because of this. She refused to acknowledge his letters, howlers or anything sent by him, until they came to a compromise. She gets to marry any man she wants, as long as he was a pureblood, and she immediately agreed. She was no blood traitor, she wouldn't marry any other blood status. She was glad, accepted all his presents and sent a thank you letter to him.
She quit lying and ignoring her father then, and started to appreciate him more. She was glad that he was letting her have that bit of freedom, because she knew how other girls had it. She attended more of the parties, and started to hate them. Everyone was trying to suck up to her, and get in a good light, so their son could marry her. She hated that, and started to refuse going to the parties no matter how much her father pleaded, until she eventually gave up. She went to only the ones she chose, no matter how much her father asked. She refused to be harassed by men older than her and their fathers. She just wished that all of it would stop, but she knew it would never end. But she still wished it would.
It got very hard for her father. Having to deal with her, the pressure of every man begging to marry his daughter, his job and his family was a bit too much. So he tried to push men on her and to hurry up and choose someone, which caused another argument, and another bad year. She hasn't spoke to her father since she left for Hogwarts this year, and it kills her. She loves her father, but there's only so much a girl can take. Hogwarts is like her escape from it all.
Hogwarts was one of the best things to happen to her. She's always been a great student and made sure it stayed that way. Her first spout of magic was when she was 6 years old. It was during one of her temper tantrums because her father got the wrong color tiara, and she flipped, and made it explode. Despite how distraught her father was before that, he was glad. Of course he knew that she was a witch, but it was still great to see his daughter's first coming of magic. He picked her up, spun her around and kissed her cheek. He congratulated her on her good work, and she looked at him confused but still smiled and laughed anyway.
After that she tried to use her magic as much as possible and attempted to make it better until her father scolded her and told her to wait until she went to Hogwarts, which confused her. She asked him about it, and he just shooed her, and said that he'll talk all about it when the time came. Well, he stayed true to his word, and when it was a day before her 11th birthday, he filled her in on everything she needed to know.
So when she finally went to Hogwarts she was overjoyed. She made her father proud and made sure she did her best, and her best was really good. She made sure she was in a good light with her father and his peers. She loved it when her father bragged about how good her grades was and how great of a with she was becoming. She tired her best to be at least close to the top of her class, and made sure of that every year, no matter what she was going through. She tried so hard that she lost sleep. Her father found out by her concerned teachers and sent her a letter and a sleep mask. It didn't really change her sleep habits but it helped show her how worried her father was, so she tried to sleep. She changed for the better, and slept more.

Out of Character
OOC NAME:
Nancy looks at her father and then at the glass. "I cannot believe your doing that again." She says rolling her eyes. How many times is he going to drink all night? Especially on this day. But she knew why he was drowning out his sorrows.
She waits for her father's response and is peeved when she doesn't get one. "Father?" She walks over to him and sees his eyes closed and he's slightly snoring. She sighs. "He must've been up all night." She walks over to him, and brushes some of his hair out of his face. "You're going to get sick like this father, and then I'll have to take care of you even more." She shakes him slightly, trying to rouse him from his sleep.
He opens his eyes, and she smiles. "Father, go to bed. Your tired, and possibly drunk." She helps him up and pushes him toward his room. Him, still half asleep, sighs but complies, and goes to his room. She smiles. "Don't do this again father. It's not healthy. I don't want you to have alcohol poisoning or anything, ok?" Her father sleepily nods, and mutters a quick goodnight.
She sighs, picking up the cup and rinsing it out. She shakes her head and sighs. She hated this day. The day her mother left. He always gets so emotional on this day, usually not paying attention to anything, not even her. Today it's just him and the memory of his ex love. She sighs once again. This day hurts her too. She knew it was her fault. She was the reason why her father was always so depressed on this day. If Nancy wasn't ever born...
She shakes her head. She could never think like that. It only causes her more problems. More things to worry about. She dries her hands and slowly walks to the couch, and sits down. Maybe, just maybe if her mother tried, just tried a bit harder to have another child, she wouldn't be so mad. It wouldn't have happened though. There were no chances that her mother, Olivia, could ever have anymore children. And her mother blamed her.
She feels her heart clench painfully. How many times is she going to tell herself that? It wasn't her fault. She was a child, she had no control over her mother. Her mother knew that, but needed someone to blame. So it feel on Nancy.
Nancy's father didn't feel like that did he? That she was at fault that his wife left? It was Olivia's decision. If Olivia was a mature adult, she would've gotten over it, right? Was it truly Nancy's fault?
Nancy wipes her eyes, and gets off the couch. She sighs once more and walks to her room.
