Brown iris’ gazed groggily up to the white ceiling above as the lids closed and opened repeatedly as the owner of the eyes attempted to rid himself of what little sleep remained. Slowly other items within the room became visible as the pupil’s began to focus and adjust themselves to the bright sunlight pouring in through a crevice from the protective shades around the windows. A long and drawn out yawn escaped his lips as he stretched his arms high above his head before bringing his hands down and dragging them across his face and rubbing at his eyes. He then slid his hands behind his head and rested them at the base of his neck. A wide quickly made it’s known on his handsome features as he continued to stare up at the ceiling above him. George thought about over the last few months. It seemed that from the time He and Fred had left Hogwarts in such a fashion had only happened the night before. Yet truth be told it had been months since their famous departure of the Wizarding school. Of course when she had found out their mother had been furious with the two of them. In fact George reckoned his left ear was still ringing from the shrill of her voice. However despite her initial anger towards her two rebellious sons she couldn’t help but he proud of them. The boys had gone from having nothing to having everything they ever wanted. Their dream had come true. The boys finally had their joke shop and it was a booming business. Sure it was very taxing of their time, but the end result was worth it. George loved waking up every morning and throwing his suit on before descending the stairs to open shop. As soon as Hogwarts had let out for the Summer Holiday it seemed that almost every single student had flocked to Weasley Wizard Wheezes to purchase items to prepare themselves for the upcoming year. Now that September was upon it brought about a serene sense of longing. Despite dropping out of Hogwarts the year before George couldn’t help but feel an emptiness within him knowing that even if he did finish his seventh year he still wouldn’t have been going back this year. There would be no more rides on the Hogwarts Express, or sitting within the Great Hall as they waited for the Welcome Back Feast to begin. With another sigh he pushed himself up from his bed and threw his legs over the edge of his mattress before glancing over the furnishing of his bedroom. When Fred and himself moved from the burrow to the flat above their shop it had been the first time that the boys had rooms of their own. The nights of sharing a room seemed to be over. But George wasn’t entirely disheartened by that fact. Fred was only across the hall which brought the twin great comfort. Pushing up from the mattress George went about his morning ritual of cleaning himself up before questioning what he wished to wear for the day. But the question remained of what he wanted to do. Did he want to manage the shop for the day or take the day off and go out for a few hours? It didn’t take the ginger head long to make up his mind. His choice of clothing was a soft long sleeved gray shirt with four buttons starting at the nipple line of his chest and ascending up to his trachea. The jeans that he slipped into were baby blue and slightly form fitting yet still comfortable to move about in. He then finished off his attire with a pair of gray shoes with white soles that matched the long sleeve shirt he had chosen. Reaching into his closet he pulled out a tan drench coat and slipped his arms into its sleeves before descending the stairs as he made his way through the shop. “Oi Verity I’m stepping out for the day. It shouldn’t be too bad, half our customers are in school now.” He said as he made his way past several aisles of products. Making his way out into the street he glanced up and down the alley watching as several shop owners started opening up for the day. Turning on the spot he felt a great pressure pressing down on him from all sides as he apparated out of Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade. Smiling to himself he made his way over to the Three Broomsticks and sat down at an empty table near the back of the inn. He ordered a Butterbeer figuring that it was a bit too early to be drinking Fire Whiskey. |
