Today was a very rare (but very happy) occurrence for one Andrea Maureen Brennan, and her very chipper and bright demeanor as she made her way down Diagon Alley was a tell-tale sign of just how cheerful she was about today’s circumstances. Because today, as a matter of fact, was the very first day that she’d had off from her rather exhausting job as an Auror in over four months. While many might consider that a ghastly period of time for work, they probably didn’t exactly know what Andrea did for the Auror Department at the Ministry.
For months, now, she’d been guarding Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - keeping an eye out for any outside threats that might be trying to infiltrate the school that she had once called home, and that her younger brother now called home. Four times a day she’d wander to the wrecked village of Hogsmeade, Apparate home, let her beloved puppy Stryder out, head back, and every once in a while take time for meals in Hogsmeade and sometimes even sleeping there when she didn’t have the energy to Apparate home. In a way, it was an exhausting business, but for some reason that, to Andie, was ten times better than sitting in her dingy little office in the Ministry itself, sorting through papers that her superiors were too lazy to look through and file themselves.
Which was what she’d been doing just about this entire week, and another reason why she was so glad for the chance to get a little bit of fresh air today. Andie was relatively excited. She’d pamper herself today, get a good meal at a restaurant somewhere in London, and have a good long walk with her puppy and settle in for a good night’s sleep. It practically sounded like heaven on earth, she just positively couldn’t wait.
Her first stop in pampering herself on this fine day? Madam Primpemelle’s Beautifying Potions Shop. She’d been looking to try and do something with her hair for ages, it felt like - while her job didn’t offer up many opportunities to encounter (and interact with) the male gender, but as there was never any knowing when she might strike gold (gold being an incredibly attractive young man looking to have a nice time with a classy young female like herself), and so Andrea wanted to look her best. Was she a relatively vain sort of person? The argument could be made, but after all - it never did anybody any good to simply look like a hag. Even in the workplace, Andie always strived to look decent.
The tiny bell above the door tinkered as she entered the small, rich-smelling shop. Already knowing pretty much what she wanted, she headed on over to the counter to see if there was anybody here who might be able to help her. ”Hello?” she called out. She wasn’t an impatient woman, and after all, she did have all day, so she was in absolutely no hurry as she leaned up against the counter with a brightly curious expression on her face. ”I was just wondering if I could get a little help with finding something?”
