this woman right here is quite... different. generally, she either hates you or loves you. there are few and far between. (it's a fine line between love and hate, right?) she can be vain if she pleases or if she's in one of her moods. she's much more intelligent than people seem to think. she's very skilled at hiding her emotions, which is why she can be viewed as cold. she doesn't trust easily, so if you gain her trust, you've gained a great friend. if you break that trust, you'd better watch out.

narcissa needs friends. (doesn't everyone?) she's a great friend if you don't cross her or do something to challenge her trust with you. she doesn't like to argue. as dull as it may seem, narcissa prefers to befriend people who have to same views as she. it's conflict of interest otherwise. she likes to have fun with her closet friends. her idea of fun ranges anywhere from dinner and a play/opera to shopping to lying by the pool or lounging around the house and gossiping. of course, she's always willing to try something new.

this will probably be the biggest list of them all. narcissa isn't exactly perceived as a friendly person. she doesn't mind, though; it helps to weed out the overly friendly people who just want to gain as many 'friends' as possible. most of her enemies are [probably] those who have opposing views from her. she takes trust very seriously, so if at some point you acted distrustful to narcissa, she would have promptly changed her friendly feelings toward you.

she's a catch, but she's already married. however, that doesn't stop other men from flirting with her or checking her out. she wouldn't cheat on her husband. that would show disrespect for the both of them and their families. (besides, she wouldn't have married if she didn't love her husband.) narcissa needs exes, too, to give her some history.

Narcissa & Charity

Narcissa and Charity have a lot of conflicts, differing opinions and views on wizarding life. Narcissa has the upper hand as its likely she knows that Charitys husband is a death eater, something she currently knows nothing about. They do however; have similar traits such as the love for their families. Perhaps they might become future secret friends, when Charity’s life turns for the worst and she is captured by death eaters? Perhaps Narcissa feels sympathy for her future plight? Or they ultimately could be enemies. What do you think?

ooooh, such a subplot to have! lol. the drama! anyway... i like the idea of them being future secret friends. for a few reasons... if cissy knew about charity's husband, i'd feel like she would be caught in one of those 'do i tell, or don't i tell?' situations. she'd want to tell because she would want to know if she were in charity's shoes. also, i've always imagined that when lucius is captured and draco is forced to become a DE, that cissy sort of switched sides then. she stuck around to protect her son, but she never wanted it to come to this. so, erm... yeah. secret friends. haha. we could even go as far as cissy helping charity escape when she's captured, like in ww2, you know? just an idea, lol.

Hehe well I love a bit of drama! Yes I thought Narcissa would likely want to help, it seems in her nature. Secret friends sounds wonderful! It’s something that would develop a lot once she’s captured. I want her ultimately to be killed like in the books, but there could be a moment were Narcissa tries to help her, but fails. I think with the ‘do I or don’t I’ tell Charity, I think keep it a ‘don’t tell’ for a while, but maybe closer to the time she’s captured Narcissa reveals the truth?

How should their relationship start?

Auntie ^_^. Colden here is a close relative of the Malfoy's and as he is looking out for Draco I think the two would get on quite close; not having a family of his own and having grown up an orphan he has come to see Narcissa and Lucius as almost 'surrogate' parents and respects and honours them highly

NARCISSA & ASTORIA,
i can definitely see astoria being like the daughter narcissa never had. i think all the slytherin parental alumni would be childhood friends so i could see narcissa and lucius being close to the greengrass family, which is how astoria came to be so close with them and since daphne and draco are in the same grade, there is definitely the likelihood of extremely close family friends. i could see astoria liking narcissa a lot more than her own mom and maybe being proud of the fact that narcissa might treat her as her own daughter, and assuming things happen between astoria and draco, i can definitely see astoria trusting narcissa and having a mother/daughter type relationship with one another.

ooh, very cool! i've always wanted narcissa to be an aunt... xD lol. i think she'd really appreciate him looking out for draco, especially when/if she couldn't do it herself. she would probably treat him like a son. =]

first, barbara palvin = <333333 second, i agree with everything you said! that's always the relationship and history i had in my mind. i can definitely imagine narcissa treating astoria like a daughter. she'd love to have a girl to go shopping with/for and to bond with. she loves her son, and her husband, but there's something about a mother/daughter relationship that she's missed out on, but astoria is the perfect fit. narcissa would also try to help astoria with her secret if she ever told her about it.

Now that we have a Fabien I’m going to have to change the way she finds out as Fabien wants to tell her, however I thought that maybe Narcissa could confirm this for her as its likely she would still be in denial over the situation, even though the truth is obvious. Also I think it could be Narcissa who fully manages to get Charity to understand the danger of her situation?

As for relationship beginning? It could be anything, the likelihood it would be a chance meeting and Narcissa would know who Charity is through her husband. I have an open thread in Diagon Alley that may be suitable, if not I’m up for anything!

Draco's closest friend...er...his mother. Anyway, I think Draco would be really close to his mother out of all people. Because she had always babied him and kept him close. His mother was one person that he could tell just about anything to and she wouldn't judge him because she loved him so much. But now that he has the task at hand, I think he's trying to distance himself from her. He wants to protect her but he isn't really telling her much or acting like he wants her anymore. He's trying to find his independence and shut down compassion so he can do his task. This might cause some conflict between the two because Narcissa might want to know why her son is suddenly shutting her out of his life. Thoughts?

aw, i think that's actually pretty sweet, though i realize not very manly. xP i agree with everything you've said, however. i think cissy would be quite hurt at his pushing her away, but she'd also understand (as much as she wouldn't want to admit it, hah.) he's growing up, becoming a man, etc. but she wants to be in his life more ever right now because SHE wants to protect HIM. so, yes! i'm fine with everything and conflict, though stressful, is always a good thing, lol.

As I stated in Draco's plotter, when it comes to how I portray Severus and his relationship with the Malfoys, this scene was much, much more than a mere ploy to gain the questionable trust of Bellatrix Lestrange. There are many more levels to it and, while it is true Severus is aware that Bellatrix will go running to her Master to whisper this little scene into his ear, thus gaining him a touch of favor in the Dark Lord's eyes, I do not feel this is why he did it - nor do I play him as though this is why. It was merely an added benefit.

As I play Severus, he was always somewhat admiring of the elder Malfoys and at times, protective of them. Lucius was a protector in his younger years, and Narcissa was very much like a big sister in many ways. Severus trusted her then and, in many ways, still trusts her today. He would never reveal his true allegiances to her - but there are other things he would likely confess, simply because Narcissa will always be family in his eyes.

Knowing that Albus Dumbledore was dying and that he was under orders to kill him is a double-edged sword for Severus. He doesn't want to do it, but on the other hand it allows him to protect Draco and for that, he is grateful in a way he recognizes is a bit twisted. Vowing to Narcissa that he would protect Draco actually meant a great deal to Severus, because for once, he could do something for her, after feeling rather indebted to her and Lucius for the protections they offered from time to time from the Marauders.

I feel these two would be close and I would love to roleplay them as such, perhaps a thread or two at Malfoy Manor, in which Severus attempts to comfort and reassure Narcissa about Draco and Lucius, or Narcissa aims to counsel Severus about his life in general. (Somehow, I can see her being a bit of the nitpicky type, and have this hilarious mental image of her insisting he get some color in his wardrobe and Severus feeling rather exasperated about the whole thing XD)

Overall I just see them as having a very sibling-like relationship, with a great deal of respect for Narcissa coming from Severus, and a sort of pitying-yet-genuine care coming from Narcissa. Let me know what you think ^.^
